Aww thank you. I love my Squeakers kids too. :D Deana Prestigeous Yorkies |
what beautiful puppies, they have the cutest faces full of attitude!! they're like, "hey everybody, notice me!" what kind of oil do you use to keep on them while they are blowing they're puppy coats? |
Thank you. They do love to demand your attention :) I use Nutrogena Light Sesame Formula and also on some coats that seem to be dryer I use Olive Oil now. Deana Prestigeous Yorkies |
I use Nutrogena Light Sesame Formula and also on some coats that seem to be dryer I use Olive Oil now. Thank you!! Do you just smooth it on their coats and comb it through after a bath, or dry? |
any pets ? |
I use it as a heavy oil, I don't mix it. You have to be careful with the skin, it can cause some to dry out on their skin. So spritz it on the coat and then I comb it thru after a fresh bath and the coat is wet. Then I use a hair dryer to dry them some (warm/low) careful not to use too much heat or to dry too much it will dry the coat/burn their skin etc. And I am sure you will find a lot of different ways breeders use this. If you look at my dogs coats, this is what I used to get those coats and genetics :) I also fully groom them out of oil every three days and then right back in oil. It takes dedication and lots of time. But so worth it. Deana Prestigeous Yorkies |

No I don't have any pets or show hopefuls right now available. I am keeping back and watching some mature. Maybe later, I have a litter due soon. So maybe in the near future. Deana Prestigeous Yorkies |
They are gorgeous . |
Hi Deana very gorgeous babies and I have a question for you and you can educate me on this. When you say in oil I always thought that you had to actually wrap with oil and by the pictures I don't see wraps. So can you just oil a dry coat without wraping? Thanks so much. |

I appreciate the nice compliment on them :) Deana Prestigeous Yorkies |

Toy doesn't have enough coat yet to even begin to wrap him. Some coats I will grow out with only using Oil. Some I use oil and wrap, you learn over time which is best with your dog and their paticular coat texture. I am learning again now on my Maltese, his coat is beautiful and I am going thru the learning process of a show coat on a Maltese. So far we are doign OK. Deana |
Toys New Pics 3 Attachment(s) I took him out of oil today and got a few pics. he is such a ham. he has almost blown all of his puppy coat. :D And his coat is looking so much better, it was dry and the oil has helped along with blowing out that puppy coat. I gotta get his feet trimmed, it takes two to trim his feet. Andy was busy today so I didn't even attempt it by myself. lol Squeakers was like that too but he grew out of it and eventually pretended to enjoy it :p Enjoy Deana Prestigeous Yorkies |
Deana - I had thought Stormy got her waves from her mother's side But it might be Tyke's side (Squeakers). Stormy's coat is getting straighter the longer it gets - it is one inch away from the floor at 11 months old. It feels to be a silky coat. A friend of mine has Stormy's older brother & his coat stayed very wavey jet black. So it is possible to have a silk coat with waves - i had thought waves meant cottony coat? I will try to take some pictures of her this weekend - she has clothing on in her recent pictures & can't see her coat. Thanks, Kim |
1 Attachment(s) toy's coat is not wavy, its just a bit messy from him running around the living room. Some coats will wave a little bit if you do not dry the coat from the underneath first. Causing it to still be a bit damp which can cause some waves. Here is Squeakers coat. This was taken at about 5 years old. I am trying to find a pre show groom pic of him. I can't seem to find any saved on the computer. Will have to look thru the discs. Deana Prestigeous Yorkies |
Toy is a nice little boy, I can see why you are keeping him for yourself. That is the first time I have seen that picture of Squeakers. Nice ;) |

He is my favorite Toy :p I was looking back thru my pics and ran across that one of Squeakers I love it too. I have some pics I need to scan and put on my site Deana Prestigeous Yorkies |
Deana - LOVE the picture of Squeakers!!! I looked on Stormy's pedigree - her dad (Tyke) mother is named Wee Luv Kaydee Did It Again. Would you happen to have pictures of her? I would love to see her!!! It's so nice to see pictures of my Furbabies Ancesters. |
Deana - i posted some pixs of Stormy on another thread for you to check out. I didn't want to post on your thread. I can't get over her beautiful coat & the length at 11 mths old. Please let me know what you think of her. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sho...17#post1751917 |
I will have to load a pic of Kaydee up and send it to you. I have other pics you may like to see of some of the ancestors etc. Deana Prestigeous Yorkies |

in some cases light steel blue or it could be more of a coarse coat. most of the wavy coats I have seen have been light not the proper steel blue. |
