His sire is from one of Georgina's litters. Diesel's breeders (with whom I co-own) are Bob & Tricia Stacy with Pastyme Yorkies (who apprenticed under Georgina). I always love watching Georgina's dogs in the ring--they are always so phenomenal examples of the breed.

Now that we've got some coat (but still not enough yet to hit the floor--thats gonna take another 4 mos or so) we are starting to get somewhere. We took a little hiatus from the ring for a few months because he looked so awkward. There were all of the pups in his class, with effectively the same length of coat as him, but being 2in taller than all of the dogs out there looked lanky and naked.

I've been wrapping and wrapping so now all of that time is finally paying off. His coat is growing and looking great. I am going to post another tread about putting weight on my dog. Before shows I practically have to hand feed him junk food (aka McDonalds chicken nuggets) just to get him to eat and beef up a little. He tends to be very skinny and usually just lightly grazes on his dog food. I've tried everything, including treadmill training him (which has really helped for the muscle development) but hasnt improved his eating habits.

Any advice?

I'm not sure what others will think, but junk food is a No No... It is very important that your dog eat a balanced meal for all of his body parts... bones, teeth, coat, brain, etc... junk food can cause more harm than good as the little dogs can't process it correctly.... I would try different balanced foods until you find one that he likes and stop the junk food... it may take you a bit because he may go on strike in order to get you to feed him the junk...

Remember Lee's lil girl that I was handling....right after her first Season, she refused to eat.....dropped to 4 pounds. I resorted to spoon feeding her 4 meals a day......added Dyne to her meals. A month of doing this she was up to 5 1/2 pounds and eating on her own.

I try to limit it. I will only feed him the junk the week before a show and I add Show Stopper to try to mitigate it a little so at least he is getting some vitamins. I know it is so bad for him but I have tried everything I can think of...who would have ever thought something could be this picky.

We've been through SO many foods and nothing. My vet took him off of Royal Canin YT because the outrageous protein content was causing his kidney values on a blood panel to be elevated. Not that he really cared for that food either, but once we stopped his kidney values when back down to the normal range.

He eats but only to maintain the bare necessity needed for minimal sustenance.

One good thing is he LOVES carrots so I give him a baby carrot daily as a snack which he couldnt be happier with.

That is a good idea to ad to his food... It would help with the calories and it has vitamins and minerals that he would need... you sure might try that...
