About Our Shelter...
East Lake Pet Orphanage is a non-profit organization, dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of homeless and unwanted animals in the Dallas area.

When admitted for adoption, each animal is given a thorough examination by a veterinarian. Dogs are tested for Heartworm/Ehrlichia/Lyme diseases if old enough, and cats are tested for FIV (feline "AIDS") and FeLV (feline leukemia). Standard vaccinations are given, and the pet is treated for intestinal parasites and fleas. Additional problems are treated on an individual basis. All animals are microchipped and spayed or neutered prior to adoption. The current adoption donation for canines is $165, and for felines is $135.

No, no pictures..I wish I did. She sounds so cute though. :p I had been looking for a rescue to be a companion for Ziggy. This was emailed to me through petfinders, I think. It will be awhile before I can get another dog as I'm busy with my mother who was recently in a bad car accident. You could call the number and maybe they could email a photo? I sure hope she finds a forever home. I think the adoption fee is only $165 and she is healthy, spayed, and up to date on shots. Let me know if you are interested...I thought YT would be just the place to find an ideal home for her.:)

I emailed the orphanage and hopefully they will provide a photo or at least more info on this little girl. Their phone message says they don't return long distance phone calls but they say they answer emails.

Have already received a reply and she sounds like such a little doll! :2hearts2: Please, someone needs to take her to her forever home soon. I'd really love to have her myself if only I could.

Ruby's photo should be online tomorrow. She is a mix, I think she has a
little Brussels in her-she is PRECIOUS (weighs about 5 pounds) and has a
fabulous little personality-loves other dogs too. We have several small dogs

She looks purebred but looks like she has had a sad, rough life although she is only a year old....poor little thing.:cry:
