Yorkie wanted in Arizona (Phoenix area) Hello all. I first signed up on this site right after I got my cute little yorkie pup (female), Roxy, 2 years ago. I would sign on and read for training tips, etc. -- when I thought she had the first signs of collapsed trachea (she had a slight case) and so on. Well, back in January my roommate, as nice as he is, was careless and left our front door cracked while he took out the trash (I was running an errand). My little roxy wandered out (she was 2) and was never seen again, despite the huge effort we went into trying to find her. I believe she was taken from someone who had no intention on giving her back to her rightful owner, as my roommate was only gone 10 minutes before he realized and started looking for her. Unfortunately, I was gone for 45 minutes before I knew what was going on. So, it has been almost 5 months and I would like to adopt two yorkies, if possible, together so that when I am at work they have company (I always felt guilty leaving her when I went to work). I live in the Phoenix, Arizona area and am willing to travel a reasonable distance to pick up. I am not in a hurry but wanted to put this post out there if anyone needs to re-home their babies. Thank you. |
Debbie, I think I may have spoken to you via Craigslist a while ago...you were still looking for your dog. You live in an apartment complex in Gilbert, right? Anyway, I'm sorry you never found your dog. I know how heartbroken you were. If you are willing to take two dogs, there is a link under "Rescue" for two older dogs available for adoption together in Arizona (Otis and Sweet Pea). They are a bonded pair. However, I'm not sure they will approve your application since you work during the day. Alot of rescue organizations do not. But it's worth a try. ~ Kelly |
Yes, I think you did contact me through Craigslist I did live in an apartment complex -- but in Scottsdale..but yes, I believe it was me. I had her posted on craigslist, pets911 and other sites, plus posters, going to all the shelters...talking to all my neighbors at the time (everyone knew I was looking). My current boyfriend (I met him the next day after I lost Roxy) thinks i am a bit "obsessed" with yorkies! He says it jokingly....but he knows I lost my little companion and I miss her. She was my first yorkshire terrier and I have fallen in love with the breed. :) I would love to have two dogs so that they can keep each other company. I always felt guitly leaving roxy but she was okay...I would come home straight after work and be with her and make sure she got the attention she needed. I know, however, that many rescues will not approve me working full time. I will try, anyway. :) |
