Thanks to Linda at Fufufashions and my dear friend Wendy, it looks like I'll have a new family member tomorrow.

I found this little guy on Petfinder and as it turns out, was due to be PTS tomorrow (5/2/07). Linda drove to the shelter to check him out and my friend Wendy is going to pick him up for me tomorrow (she's only 18 miles away versus my 40+ and heavy Houston traffic). She will drop him at my vet's office for a once-over and hopefully he'll be home with us soon.

If you read my previous thread about the female in Corsicana, you'll remember I had to have her put to sleep due to major cancer in her mouth. This after less than 48 hours with me. And, in many threads, I've mentioned my first love, Chester, whom I rescued several years ago and lost in 2005.

Oh, I so adore the pitiful little things and watching them come back from their horrible circumstances. His little eyes are matted shut, but hopefully it's treatable.

I'M SOOO EXCITED! Will post pics asap!

Awwwwww !! congratz on your new addition to your family !! i can't hardly wait to see pix of him !! :p i was just talking to Linda and did say that she was going to see a doggie @ the shelter so i do knoe wat you are talking about !! :D

bless your heart for taking in rescues and turning them around. can't wait to see him.

Hi Jacki! I have those pictures...do you want me to post them for you? I know you are busy at work and i don't mind but i didn't want to post them unless you wanted me to. I hope it works out for you and the little guy. He seems like a sweetie and had some spunk left in him. He isn't blind like they told you since he came right up to me and stood up on my leg. :)
You are so sweet to save this little boy. Today would have been his last day so GOD BLESS YOU!!
I know everyone will want to see the before and after photos! I bet he cleans up really cute!! :)

OOOOOHHHHH - I'M SOOOO EXCITED. The vet just called. He's heartworm negative, has conjunctivitis and bad teeth, both of which are treatable. They did say he was quite old - but that means he's even more worth spoiling to death.

I will post new photos as soon as I can. He's spending the night at the vet and I pick him up in the morning.

Thanks again for all your well wishes. Can't wait to snuggle with the little fella!

So glad this all worked out for you and him. He is definitely one lucky pup to have you as his :littleang

What a sweet soul you have!!!! Do you already have a name picked out for him? Do you know what caused the eye infection...was he a stray or just not cared for? He is still so incredibly cute....how proud and excited you must be! :)
