Haven't really heard of any puppy mills over here, but they sound awful! It's cold and heartless to treat a poor defencless creature cruelly. I can't ever imagine deliberatly hurting an animal. They're living things like eveyone else... would hate to think of my baby in a mill... actually, i hate to think of any animal stuck in a misreable old mill. :( |
Hello, I am new to this board but here is an article about puppy mills from PETA It is about an investigator that went undercover to work at a puppy. The investigator found things like "the collar on a Labrador retriever had not been adjusted as the dog grew and had become embedded in his flesh. Even though the gangrenous skin fell away as the collar was removed, it was treated with nothing but a worm-repellant spray." It seems there is also a video. This is a factsheet from PETA and has some further possible source of research cited at the bottom. Hope this helps I can do some research if it is helpful, let me know |
What if we as a group compose a letter and send it to all the talk shows that we can think of?? I dont know how many of you like D. Phil but his daughter has yorkies. I saw then a the airport in Denver one time and she had 2 little gorgeous yorkies with her. I think if we composed a letter as a group and each and every one of us printed it out, signed it and mailed it to each place we all agreed on we might have some pull. JMO I have been thinking about writing Opah about this too. |

I think we need someone to make us an online petition that we all can sign, print out individually and send out to everyone we can think of. care2 does online petitions a lot for environmental causes and then emails them out, but I think hard copies are more effective. I would be willing to help draft it if someone would do all the computer stuff - sometimes I have a hard time connecting to the net :confused: ! Lets try to keep this bumped up front! Windy |
