Craiga | 10-07-2014 11:40 AM | Need re-home your Yorkie? Consider me Hello,
I have been searching for a Yorkie for a few months. I am suspicious of “affordable” Yorkie pup ads and can’t pay $2,000 for a proven reputable breeder. I am looking to adopt and home YOUR Yorkie that you may be currently unable to care for.
I have excellent vet references; we have used that vet for over 20 years with numerous dogs. I also have a reference from WeeRescue, a group I rescued two Shi-tzu siblings from. (They passed within months of each other in 2011, at the ripe age of 21) Taz and Lacey, RIP.
I have a female 3.5 lb Yorkie, Death Machine - "Deathie" (her dad named her). We have a rescue boxer mix who is very gentle with, and protective of, my little Yorkie. The boxer was found running in traffic in a 6-lane road about 6 years ago. She has grown into a formidable lady. She is gentle, clean and fit. Deathie is a puppy mill rescue, whose adopted mom surrendered her to me about 6 years ago. Both dogs are parasite- and disease-free, even-tempered and well-socialized, if a tad spoiled. They are both very deeply loved and cared for. My Deathie turns 9 y/o on Oct 13. Samantha – “Sam”, the boxer turned 7 around last Spring.
I live with my 19 y/o daughter who has cared for pets most of her life. Our dogs sleep with us and have free run of the house. The little one has a just-in-case pee pad station in our indoor laundry room. They have a fully fenced yard with lush grass. I treat the yard for fleas and insects and keep cedar mulch in flower beds to repel these, as well. I am building them a dog potty as seen on Pinterest, which will include a french drain, sea gravel and a modesty fence. I have a covered porch for sunning, with steps leading to the yard. The doggies go on walks every single day. They go with us to pet-friendly places like outdoor restaurants, parks, community events, pets stores and hardware stores. The little one flies with me when I go out of state. (Sam would have to ride cargo so no go. My daughter, son or ex-hubby dog sit if I have to fly somewhere. I take both with me on in-state trips in the car, though. My family knows we’re a package deal…. or should I say ‘pack’ deal?
I welcome a Yorkie companion from puppy-age to 8 or 9 y/o. I don't care about physical defects - tripod, missing eye, etc; genetic defects are cost-prohibitive, but let’s talk. I would welcome your furbaby, perfect or not, into my home and care for him for the rest of his/her life. I welcome a home visit and can send pictures of my home, my street and my family. I'm in Austin and willing to drive anywhere in Texas to pick up the dog. I will also take multiples (siblings you cannot split). Talk to my vet; I can handle it.
Thanks. I will be happy to answer any questions you may have. |
