Yorkie in NC @ NC Shelter..... I receive emails from Yorkie rescue USA and this was one I received this morning. The email included a picture but I don't know how to link it here but I did save my email if anyone is interested. This DOG - ID#A660952 I am a male, black and brown Yorkshire Terrier. The shelter thinks I am about 1 year and 6 months old. I have been at the shelter since Dec 20, 2005. This information is 7 hours old. I just called and there is already 5 people on the waiting list....it only cost $73.50 to adopt him and that includes all his shots, health check, neuter and microchip. I forgot to ask when the adoption date is but you have to go there to put your name on the list and be there on the adoption date and they start calling the names on the list and the first person on the list that is there gets him. Poor little guy...I hope he doesn't have to stay there much longer :( He's real close to me so I may go there and put my name on the list just in case the other five people don't show up. Who knows...I couldn't keep him but I could make sure he finds a good home. I'd love to see a picture of him...if you email it to me I will post it for you. Someone else on here may be interested....I know we have a few members from NC here on the board! |
AH! GO put your name on the list,,ya never know! Where is he at? Oh and you would get to see him. I'm surprised a rescue has not snatched him up.. He is definately at a good price, most rescues charge 200-up,. so he is quite the bargain, xspecially with all the stuff already included, shots,microchipped,etc. |
My husband would literally shoot me if I got another dog.we have four already :D It sure is a great price!!! He is just about a 15 minute drive from me....I may go by there today and see and put my name on the list....I could help find him a good home. I'm pretty sure they don't do any screening at the animal shelter which is where he is...at least it didn't sound like it when I talked to the lady on the phone:( I sent a pm to the original poster of this thread and offered to post a picture but haven't heard anything yet....I'd sure love to see him too!!!!! :) |
GOOD LUCK! It is so sad to see so many animals at the shelters... It is even worse to know most shelters don't do much for questions and interviews for new owners! |

We just got back and it turns out that TODAY was the actual adoption day...they had a list of five people on the waiting list and person number 2 got him...he was very cute and looked like he weighed about 6 lbs. |

No, they had already left but not with the dog....the dog has to stay there until it gets neutered. He was in a kennel with a black Cocker Spaniel. Poor baby was barking the whole time....I couldn't work in a place like that...too sad to see all those doggies waiting and hoping for a forever home and then what happens if they don't fine one:( Someone got a good deal on a cute yorkie though....he really was cute and a good size :) |

Yes, he was adopted today but has to wait til he gets neutered to go to his new home...that is all I know except he was a cutey :) |
Where is this little guy at now? Is this through YTNR? Please let me know.. We have lots of folks on our list for foster homes. I checked ytnr website and he doesnt match any that I'm seeing. |
He is at the Charlotte Meck. Animal Control. He has already been adopted and they took him off of the website :) |
