Small dog rescue website This rescue has mostly Yorkies of all ages, but does have some other small dogs too. They have available dogs in Arizona, New Mexico, and Colorado and just took in over 80 more this week so they're getting a bit crowded. If anyone is interested in adopting a rescue dog, please check them out. It is hard work and you need a lot of patience but the rewards are so worth it all! https://breederadoptions.org/Available_Dogs.html |
it makes me so sad to see the seniors available on this site. they should be living the golden years with their loved ones. so sad and theres so many. i wish they were closer. |
We see that here as well. Lately if been searching on the internet and here we have "marktplaats.nl" which is kind of the same as craigslist. And there are so many elder doggies. With the excuse that the family is changing or getting bigger and they can't keep or don't have time for the dog. Others say they are allergic.. It makes me so mad! |
It is sad :( My Tuppance was almost 8 when I adopted him from this place. It's actually his 8th birthday this month so going to give him his first ever Birthday party!! I wish I could have adopted more but I just can't afford it right now, but maybe one of these days :) |

There are quite a few older dogs listed. But isn't that pretty typical? People get married, have a baby, move...and decide they don't have time anymore for their once-upon-a-time best friend. Or they get sick of their puppy when said puppy grows up :( It's so sad. I always get teary-eyed when I look through the rescue listings, or Petfinder. It makes me realize how much I take for granted. I only hope that all of those pups find a home as loving as the one you've made for sweet Tuppance. |
Rescues, especially the older ones, are treasures. Zipp was around 15 when I brought him from Ohio to Florida to spend his last 2 1/2 years living like the "king" he was. Here's his story if you would like to read about him. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...ears-age.htmle Do miss the old Zipp. |
Small dog rescue I just looked at the link and am so sad to see so many sweet older babies there. I pray that they get adopted to loving homes where they will have the happy life they deserve. It hurts me to know that puppy mills can keep breeding the poor little dogs and then turn them out when they are no longer useful. Thank God there are rescues and homes to save this poor creatures. A pox on all you puppy mills!!! |

I feel bad for all these babies ... I wish I could afford to take care of another, but I am afraid make the commitment because of the lack of steady income I have right now. At least I'm honest! Nilla lives a pretty nice lifestyle -- I feed her good quality food and treats, she has tons of toys, I'm a lot of times getting her new harnesses and accessories, she stays on preventative medication monthly, she gets lots of love, ... but the thought of extra vet bills is scary. :p Sometimes I don't know what the lesser of two evils is here ... I don't like the thought of the fur babies being put to sleep, but I would hate to feel neglectful if I adopted one and they had an issue that I couldn't afford to get straightened out at the vet's (expensive stuff -- at least our vet is!) office. :( Everything is so expensive, and the economy still = :thumbdown. Hoping for things to improve! I hope all these cuties get new furever homes out West! :) |
