Blind Yorkie in Florida needs forever home www.PetHarbor.com pet:LECO.A529493 One of my rescue buddies sent me this - I'm to far away and in no position to take on anything more right now - but this sweet boy needs help! He's fairly safe since he has a foster, but he could still be euthanized. They will work with 501c3 rescues if anyone knows of a Yorkie rescuer in that area! |
Poor baby. I hope he finds a loving forever home. |
Me to :(. I wish he where closer - Florida is a long way from Vegas and there's plenty here we're struggling to find enough foster and forever homes for! |
Try United Yorkie Rescue...they have foster homes in Fl. |
Poor guy, I hope someone adopts him soon. |
OH my he is so adorable:love: Unfortunately, I can't financially take on another dog:( I do hope that he gets his forever home soon. |

I think this pup is ok based upon that ad...but I could be wrong. I guess someone could contact them. |
Got this when I clicked on the link. Sorry! This animal is no longer in our online database. Please check with the shelter to see about its availability. Any idea what could have happened? Someone took the "pup" |

Blind Dog (Bobbi Magoo) is still listed on Lee County's Website I just emailed Lee County Domestic Animal Services (LCDAS) - located in Fort Myers, SW Florida - Bobbi Magoo is in the database (accidently listed) as a medium sized dog so when searching for a small dog he does not come up - his bio reads he was abandoned with his brothers and sisters but he is the only yorkie listed with LCDAS even when searching for all dogs - This is his link: Search for a Pet to Adopt If you are still having a problem with the links this is his complete bio: BOBBI MAGOO - ID#A529493 I am a neutered male, tan and silver Yorkshire Terrier. The shelter staff thinks I am about 8 years old. I have been at the shelter since May 19, 2012. Shelter Staff made the following comments about this animal: Hi, my name is Bobbi Magoo, and I am pleased to meet you. By my picture you would never know how ruff my life was until I came to Lee County Domestic Animal Services. I was found abandoned with my brothers and sisters in North Fort Myers. When I came into the shelter I was a mess. I was matted and had really bad skin. Oh, and did I mention that I am blind? Once I got to the shelter I was given the TLC I needed and I was placed in a foster home where I have been spoiled. My foster mom thinks I am great as I am low energy and I am a very loving dog. I love my daily grooming, I walk well on a leash, and I'm working on getting housebroken. Don't let my blindness worry you as I get around just fine. I even come when you call my name. I do miss my brothers and sisters and would love to be adopted into a home with other dogs as I get kind of lonely by myself. My perfect day is sitting at home on your lap all day. Oh and did I mention I even like cats. <End of bio>When I receive a reply from the shelter I will post an update on him - Jil |
Poor baby, I hope he gets the wonderful home he deserves. |
Bobbie Magoo Has Two Applications For Adoption I have communicated with the shelter a few times via email - Bobbie has two applications for adoption and his foster mom also interviews the candidates - hopefully one of the apps is a good one so he will be in a perm home soon! :) |
I adopted Bobbi Magoo 1 Attachment(s) OK, I admit it -I put in an app for Bobbi (one of the two) and I went to Ft. Myers the last Sat in May - I had a phone interview with his foster mom [wonderful, wonderful person] a few days before and I met Bobbi and his foster mom that Sat - she wanted me to bring my most outgoing yorkie Mylie who was perfect the entire trip - As a side note Bobbi had been adopted three times and returned three times once was an overnight return - he was also looked at on the Thursday before I saw him and his prospective adopter was turned down - Bobbi is older than his bio so he is early double digits, I took him to my vet and since he is blind my vet put him on artifical tears and cyclosporin, he needed a dental and had a tooth pulled so he is on antibiotics and pain meds, I had two of his largest moles removed, and he is now on a home-cooked diet and he is major detoxing [ear ointment for his ear infection and benedryl for scratching], he also has a collapsed trachea - his coughing is off and on and when we go back to the vet I am going to ask for cough medicine or something else for his coughing - Besides that he's fine! Attached is a pic of Bobbi Magoo checking out our chick house - I have a cute movie of him but I can't figure out how to load an avi file although I've seen a movie on YT before - any suggestions? Thanks! |

You are a wonderful person, thank you for taking care of this boy! Now as for the picture, can we have a frontal pic of him that is not in a box:eek:!!!! Initially, I thought that was his *kennel*:eek:!! I think all he needs is love, hugs, kisses and treats...take care of that gorgeous guy! |
Bobbi Magoo Pic 1 Attachment(s) This is the best pic I have of Bobbi Magoo he is sleeping on my bed with Chip the cat - I don't kennel or crate my dogs but I did crate Bobbi the first two weeks when I fed him - I still separate him from my other dogs but he now eats in the kitchen - His foster mom found out he was in a home with 3 other dogs and about 30 cats - he did not get along with my cats when I first brought him home - he would snap, growl, and attempt to chase them - a lot has changed and you can see by the pic he is now fine with my cats :) |
Thank you for taking this little guy in. You are his angel on earth. Maybe now he can finally feel the love and warmth of a loving family and a forever home. |
