Female Yorkie in Louisiana Needs Home If you're from Louisiana and are interested in a female Yorkie let me know. She needs a home today! I've tried putting her on Craigslist but keep getting flagged-- and I'm basically giving her away. |
More info please? Why? Full description? Where in LA? There are people here that may be able to help. Please post. |

I saw your other post about her. Please post more info. there are rescues on here that can help. |
Please do not just give her to just anyone!!! I shudder to think of the things that could happen INCLUDING her being used as a bait dog. If you send an email to YHR at yorkiehavenrescue@yahoo.com we will try to help. We have a member in BR who can contact you. |
Is this the same pup you got yesterday for free? PLEASE don't just give her away to anyone. :( |
I live in Louisiana, and I actually do foster rescue dogs. Please send me some more info. All of my dogs here are pretty small so she should fit in. My largest dog is a maltipoo I rescued, and he is 7 pounds. My other two dogs are 2.5 lbs and 4.5 lbs. My maltipoo foster baby really has learned to adjust his play down, and hes very god with the smaller ones. How old is your dog? Does she have any medical issues? |
I LIVE IN LOUISIANA and will TAKE YOUR BABY I see that you live in Lafayette. I live in Baton Rouge. So I'm only an hour from you, and I'm happy to drive to you. I have fostered dogs for years. I would love to talk some more with you. I will give you referenced with the LSU vet school doctors if you need, but I would love to take her in. Please get back to me!! Thanks so much!! |

Ladies calm down, I've found her a great home. I was talked out of getting her on here, but I couldn't leave her there. Everyone assumes free means bait dog, it's ludicrous to think I would just give her away like this woman. She's safe and in her new home, hopefully feeling like a princess. I found someone who treats herdogs JUST like, if not better, than I treat my little guy. |
Oh I was on other sites looking at dog clothes for my babies, and I just came back to this site and saw your post. I don't foster for a specific group. I have just rescued several dogs and placed them. The maltipoo I rescued came about bc of a beagle that I had rescued in Prarieville, LA. I fostered him for about two months while trying to find his owners because I initially thought he was lost....I now think he was dumped(soooo wrong). but upon talking with a rescue beagle organization at Petco on Saturday adoption day, I was able to place him with them to help find him a home. Because most of the work Ive done has been with smaller breeds. But The rescue group that was there had just gotten in a maltipoo and he was in horrible horrible condition. After talking with the worker, I agreed to take him. They had just gotten him in and he was fostering this little guy but he had to work long hours and this particular maltipoo has terrible terrible separation anxiety. But both of my sister's dogs are full blooded poodles that I rescued and housed until I socialized, trained and nursed them back to full health. So Im not officially with a group but Ive done this for years, and I have worked with my vet on this. I most certainly am not someone using them for bait dogs!!! I can understand your concern adn thats why I immediate;y volunteered to take her in!! I'm just someone at home all of the time due to medical issues and I love helping dogs. That is the reason my rescue is still with me 9 months later. There are plenty of people who would just gladly take a white fluffy gorgeous dog that he has turned out to be. However, I would NEVER let him go to anywhere that isnt the perfect place for him!!! So I appreciate your concern, but I had only the best of intentions!!! |
Glad you found her a home!!! Sounds like shes in a great place |

Know why the ad was flagged? Because people who care hate to see such posts. I DO hope you did a vet check on this wonderful lady. Unless you did, you really do not know how she is with her pups. I will pray for this baby. |

I NEVER said her home was found on CL, I simply posted there. There are crazies everywhere-- you go with your gut. I sat down with this woman, met her other Yorkie, watched them play, and saw her entire house. Your quote is simply your opinion and I have mine. Just stop being so damn judgmental and accept the fact that she will no longer be in a pen eating non-stop. She has a new home, a pet brother, and a wonderful new mom who are going to get her weight back on track and get her fully vetted on Monday. Good homes are everywhere, just because YOU don't think a home is perfect, doesn't mean they aren't capable of giving the pup unconditional love. A lady recently posted on this site how she left because she felt to bullied-- I totally get that feeling. This website is about helping out fellow Yorkie owners, not judging. What makes you think finding a dog on here is any different that putting an ad out on CL or in the newspaper? When you search for 'Yorkies for adoption'or for sale... you're led to this site too. So, stop trying to make me feel bad for getting this pup out of a bad situation. |

NOW you come here and tell us you found a home ... oh, a wonderful home at that...that quickly? I am simply saying the odds are very much against that and if you want to call that bullying, so be it. I am posting not to make you feel badly.....but if you do, perhaps that is just your feelings??? I am posting now because I want people to know that is NOT the best way to find a GOOD home for a yorkie. |
She had to be placed today because her old owner needed me to get her TODAY and I had to go out of town to visit family! So, before you say that's a red flag, why don't you ask why she had to be placed TODAY! Plus, someone private messaged me on here about her-- not everything has to be seen by all! So, the time I spent NOT ON HERE, I was meeting her new owner. Let it go! |
I am not stating my opinion based on the fact that you found the dog a new home. Obviously, after reading your other thread, you can't afford to have the dog. In that case, finding a new home is great is it is the "right" home. But with that said, I think you do have to be careful about where they end up. I will never ever agree with you about Craigslist because I just think it is wrong. Do you know how many people look for free Yorkies?? To me, Craigslist is an open invitation. I have a friend trying to rehome a pup right now and we are not posting it on Craigslist. I also will not agree with you about rescues. As a matter of fact, I am a little shocked at your response about them. Yet, you think members here are being judgmental? I know the work involved in the rescues. I know they go above and beyond to do what is best for these pups. Go read some of the stories here. Then you might understand why the members here get so passionate about things like this. I also know that they make sure the pup is fixed before it is placed in another home. Was this pup fixed??? Did you get her fixed before giving her to another owner who also has a male? Was the male fixed? They can end up in the wrong hands and become breeders very easily. In my opinion, you are not being bullied as you say. Members are trying to make you understand what COULD happen to these pups if you are not careful. Yes, they are used as breeders, yes they could be used as bait, and yes I am sure there are many other things. With that said, many times people can present good homes and not really be. Rescues will do vet reference checks and home visits as well as any extra steps needed to find a good home. As far as finding pets for sell here on YT, just like anywhere else you have to be careful. We are not saying that every breeder here is the best breeder in the world. But I can say this, if they are a good breeder you will not find them on Craigslist selling pups. Many of us on here want to educate others as we have a true passion and love for the breed. Sadly, many don't like what we have to say. I will say this, If Ladyjane told me something about a Yorkie, I would take it to the bank. Her knowledge and experience for this breed is something that most can not hold a stick too. Trust me, she KNOWS what she is talking about. |

No, I am not going to just "let it go". I don't want others to come along and read this and think it is a great way to place a yorkie, because it isn't. |
Cant wait to see the lady who took her post on here! How exciting a new member who can show everyone that rehoming works when done privately...you did tell her about yorkie talk right? I just assume anyone who would treat her like a princess would LOVE to be part of bennefitting contributing and sharing on yorkie talk. Craigs list is a great place to buy sell adversise trade or give away material goods or services. NOT PETS. Unless you are posting about a missing or found pets and gee you should be careful about who you return a found pet to and how you share information on a found pet...afterall craigslist is the FREE SITE for just about everything... |
all im gonna say is ONE DAY....wow!! |
