It's Official we were accepted as a foster family for Yorkie Haven Rescue! i am so excited to help find a foever home for the first furr baby! just have to wait for one in need. thank you yorkie talk for making me aware and inspiring me to help save babies. :D |
Excellent! It takes a special kind of family to take in a little one in need, love them until they find a forever home, and then let them go. Karma to you!! |
Congratulations!! We are new members and will hopefully be picking up our first foster this Sunday. We have been searching for a pup in need and found one at a shelter a state over, so we will be picking her up (if she isn't adopted before) on our way home from Portland, OR on Sunday :D I'm excited to make a difference and help out yorkies! |
congrats to you as well!!! cant wait to see pics of the new furrbaby. |
It has really changed me to foster although I do not believe Molly will be going anywhere. No one wants a sight impaired dog. That is just fine with me though because we love her so much and it would be so hard to lose her at this point. She was so afraid when she first came to us and now she is one of the pack and she knows she belongs here and I would hate to have her feel like we just gave her up. So I guess I am failing at fostering lol. I know in my heart that if the right person came along for her I would let her go and it would hurt but I can not help anymore as long as I have Molly and if she finds the right home I would love to help another one. |
I got a little blind maltese when she was just 7 weeks old. Her family didn't have the time for a little blind puppy so they let me have her. She just turned two years old and she is the best little dog. She can get around this house and yard as well as my sighted dogs. Maybe there's someone out there like me that would want to give Molly a loving home but be sure you could give her up. I fostered a little terrier mix last summer for 2 1/2 months before sending up her north to a rescue. I could have kept her but decided to let her go because I have 4 furbabies of my own. I loved that little girl and she was so good. I have fostered about 25-30 dogs in the last 3-4 yrs but she was the only one that I regretted letting go. Blind dogs see with their hearts. |
awww those are such heartwarming stories and exactly why i am trying to help those babies in need. it is important to me to either provide or find a warm-loving home for them to feel comfortable. i know it may be hard to let go but i will remember the important thing is the furr babies happiness not mine. thank you for sharing thoes stories. |
So happy you will experience the joy of making a difference in a little ones life. I have not only Tiny but a puppy mill rescue, Snowy. Everyone comments on the love you can see in her eyes when she looks at me. I did not have the heart to send her away. I have fostered others that went to loving homes. I hope you feel the rewards it brings.... |
