Ohhhhh I had not seen this thread. So happy that mom and baby will be warm and cozy for Christmas! :)

I wish I had something great to report this morning but, as of now...we are playing the waiting game with this high-kill Animal Shelter & the LA County Adoption Partners while they decide to give the go ahead for our Foster Mom to do a pull.

Not only am I frustrated over the lack of interest on their parts in helping make this happen...I am even more frustrated to have learned that the Baby:aimeeyork, passed away on Saturday.:(

So, please say some prayers for Momma (Fifi) that we can get her out of that hell hole and home in time for Christmas as LJ mentioned.:hands:

Oh no, poor little Mama. She must be so confused after loosing her baby & her human family. This brakes my heart. What are they waiting for to release her to rescue, if she was an owner turn in then she should be available upon intake.

In order for a rescue to pull a dog from an animal shelter, the adoption coordinator must place the foster mom's name on their "pull list"...must be really hard to do...grumble, grumble:rolleyes:

I used to volunteer at the Carson shelter. I once walked outside to see a half dead possum with a pinky crawling out of her pouch.. it made me sick, so I turned around and leaned on a barrel.. My eyes shifted up to find that the barrel was full of euthanized dogs and cats.

I walked to the side of the building.. threw up for about 15 minutes, told them I couldn't do it anymore and left. After that I spent my time volunteering for no-kill rescues, because as much as I love animals, my heart isn't strong enough to take those kinds of sights.

I really hope we can get that Momma out of there. I wish those employees would give a damn.

oh im so sorry to hear that the baby passed. how sad for the momma. hope you can get her out!! so sad.

That poor puppy...how heart breaking. Some shelters are better than others...some are definitely worse. The only thing we can do is work with them....they all have their own rules. It can definitely get to you....especially the bad ones. We had a go round with one in NC a few years ago and because of what we did, we can no longer go to that shelter. I would not be so bothered if not for the fact that they are still doing what they did then and we made no impact that I can see. They let a pup suffer and die for days on the cold concrete. The pup's name was Mia...I still think of her. :(

:( That's awful. I'm so sorry for the pup, and for FiFi's pup. It breaks my heart. Hopefully this adoption coordinator will hurry up and FiFi can sleep in a nice warm room tonight, with a blankie, a pee-pad, a nice cuddly stuffed animal.

Please let us know that you have the mother, I haven't been able to get Mom and Baby out of my mind. Very saddened about the pup, but happy that you are going to rescue mom. Praying everything goes smoothly for you.

Amanda will soon be on her way to pick up Momma Fifi & yeah for Amanda's strong voice message to the Adoption Coordinator...it apparently got her on her toes.

I'll let Amanda post updates now on Momma Fifi and let you all know how she's doing. We both feel so bad for her to have lost her baby (babies?) and her owners all in one fell swoop...heartbreaking what people do to their pets.:(
