I just received a Yorkie 2weeks ago and the parents cannot take him back, they moved some where they cannot have animals he was 7 in March 12,2011, he needs to be neutered, his name is Baxter and he weighs 7 pounds and he is very vocal and is red and black, please PM me and i will give you my number, my other 3 has been taken care of two have the shot and are spayed and neutered shots, so please do not judge me this really breaks my heart and now I'm about to be 50 and I'm really dam worried that I will not ever find a Job in this economy.:aimeeyork

Praying you can find him a home, are you rehoming just him or your other 3? I live in Kennesaw I will ask some friends of mine. Is there a rehoming fee?

Just him, I just lost my job so I cannot afford to get his shots done and have him neutered and i included him in the 3 my Abbie is 7 I have had her since she was a baby and I got Skip from here 2 years ago when he was 1

No, he needs his shots etc and I just want him to go with some that will take care of him and take care of him being neutered, thats all i care of and I want to possibly sent him to a Yorkie rescue I don't no one in the area. he loves to talk and follow you around and will let you know when he has to go potty, but he will run if you do not watch the door and he will stand on his hide legs to beg with his front paws hanging over, he is such a sweetie and if not a rescue I want a written guarantee notarized that this will be done for him and also he will smile at you also and he like to sleep under the bed or right beside you

I already have 4, or I would love to have him. Have you checked with Atlanta Pet Rescue, they take all breeds of dogs.

You might also try A Paw In Need, it's a rescue in Gainsville just off 369.

I'm so sorry to hear you are facing these difficulties. Hoping someone can give Baxter a home. I saw some ppl on the site looking for a reasonably priced pup so hopefully they will see this thread and give little Baxter a home. I'm also hoping the job market opens up for you. This economy is just terrible, especially in some parts of the country.

Is it just the shots and neuter that you are worried about?
I know the humane society here where I live is doing free for people unemployed. It is Fl. and there is a lot of unemployment.
If it is just that than I am sure one of the rescues may be able to help.

Give it time. Rescues are extremely busy right now. I don't think you aren't getting a response because of his age, in fact APIN has several senior Yorkies in their care right now. It takes time to find room in the rescue foster homes and to arrange medical care for those in need. Unfortunately, there are a lot of people turning over dogs right now.

If the cost of his shots are holding you back, the mobile clinics at Petco will do all the immunizations and a heart worm test for about $65.

Could you post a link to his info or a picture? A lady that I work with just had her 17 year old yorkie pass away 2 weeks ago. He was a rescue that she adopted when he was 8 years old. He had several health issues and his age & condition did not bother her. She honestly gave him the best life for his last 9 years. I don't know that she is ready to adopt again because she is still grieving. I was just reading this thread tonight, saw you were also in Georgia and thought it might be a possiblity. Just thinking if she saw a picture of him or a little more info~ that she might fall in love.

This would be a blessing for this Yorkie and the lady if she is interested. Hope the dog is healthy.

I will get my Fiance to add a picture I do not know how, He talks to you and tilts his head a lot when you talk to him, he will stand on his hind legs with his front paws folding under, he sleeps with me and he has beautiful coloring red and black, his birthday is 3/12/2004, He has to be on a leash when you take him out on walks because he will run, I'm going to PM my number:aimeeyork

He seems healthy, but i have not take him to the vet i was planning to until I got hit by the bombshell, My job gave me a $2.00 raise 2 months ago but they had some girls that they tried a new program out and did not work, so I guess I was the oldest one working there and I got the boot they told me they were restructuring,It was a psychiatrist office, I turn 50 next month on the 30.

It usually takes some time for the rescues to get back to you, so don't give up on them. I'm sorry you're going through this and I really hope you find a wonderful and loving home for him.

I found someone that is going to help me with getting him neutered and his shots done and I love the little guy so I'm going to keep him, he talks to me, smiles showing his teeth,tilts his head when I talk to him and when he lets me know loudly when he want to go potty, my little man Baxter

I'm so glad you can keep him. He sounds like a wonderful little fella. I would have taken him if I didn't live so far from you. I have been thinking about getting a friend for Gracie.

I am so Happy for you and Baxter, what a blessing this is for both of you. Would love to have you post lots of pictures.
