Poor baby. I am so glad she is with you now. Nikki, who the vets estimate to be 17 was a rescue. When I met him and his owner(RIP) 18 months ago, his breath was so bad you couldn't get near him and he of course didn't want to eat much. I took him to the vet and he agreed to do the 900 dental for 400 since his owner couldn't afford it. He had all his teeth extracted and gum/bone work done. He did really well with the extensive surgery. His tongue doesn't hang out which surprised me. Since I took him in a year ago he has gained weight and become a little chow hound just like my girls. He no longer looks all hunched up either. So I would think she would do well with a dental as long as her pre blood work turns out fine. I wonder if her skin problem is due to allergies. Her peeing could be a UTI or stones. A complete vet exam should help determine exactly what is going on. It all sounds like things that can be fixed. I think you will be amazed at the difference once she has her dental and starts eating more. Bless you for taking her in. |
How is she doing now? She is very cute. Does she go in her crate? If not, I would put a bed in the area for her. She may hate that crate. If she was poking her head through trying to get out, then she may not even go in it. Her skin will heal on her face. I feel so sorry for her. That's pitiful, but she's got a chance at a nice life now. |
