Can someone on San Antonio, TX area help? I lost my little darling recently and have been looking at Yorkies to adopt. I found this little guy in the Animal Care Services Division City of San Antonio. Petfinder Adoptable Dog | Yorkshire Terrier Yorkie | San Antonio, TX | A144234 I have checked and can't find a yorkie or small animal rescue that doesn't euthanize in San Antonio and I am over 200 miles away and can't go get the little guy myself. This breaks my heart. If anyone can help this little guy please do and I will contribute money for gas. If I have done anything wrong here I apologize profusely. I just want to help this helpless little creature. I hope they have at least bathed and shaved him. |

Thank you, LadyM. I called the ADL, but so far there is nothing they can do for him. The pound in San Antonio hasn't even bathed and clipped him yet or assessed him. Poor little darling must be miserable. They've had him since Oct. 29. |
Oh this is heart breaking.... |
Well, I made no progress. I couldn't even get anyone to answer my email or call me back. I did talk to the pound about how I thought it was cruel and inhumane for them to leave this little fella in that condition since Oct. 29. and if they were going to do that they might as well have left him on the street. All he is is miserable in a cage now. I plan to call back tomorrow and see if they have at least cleaned him up and guilt them into doing that and posting a fresh picture or putting him out of his misery if he is too sick. These people are supposed to help animals and if any of you live in the San Antonio area or even in Texas I suggest you call and give them a piece of your mind, too. This is equally as bad as the way puppy mills treat their dogs. |

They are not sticking with the 11-3 date because I gave them such a hard time today and told them I would be calling on 11-4 to check on him and I wanted him bathed and assessed. |
Oh, and they don't know anything about him except that he's so matted he has skin problems, he's an older dog with cataracts and has dental problems. I jumped on them and said all the more reason not to let him suffer. Get him assessed so someone can get him out of there. They won't let anyone have him before that except a verified rescue organization. |
eddie's mom ...I am in houston about 3 hrs from san antonio...are you wanting to adopt him? if so I will go get him for you till you can get down here |
My husband and I have talked and agree we would take him no matter his problems and give him a good home or try to find him one. He sure doesn't deserve what he is getting and I can't stand it. We come to Houston on a pretty regular basis since most of my family lives there. I would be willing and able to come up within a week or so and get him. |
well if you can get things worked out with the shelter..let me know and I'll make arrangements to go pick him up for you... you can pm me with any info and I'll send you my phone number too. :) |
I called on this baby this morning and they said he was returned to his owner. I certainly hope that the owner will take better care of him from this point on. This is so sad... |
wow I hope so too |
I called on him twice. I called the first time, waited an hour, and called back just to make sure they gave me the same answer. They told me the owner had picked him up. All we can do is turn him over to a higher power. |
Yes, it was very strange. I received an email from them also stating that the dog was reclaimed by it's owner as soon as it came in. Somewhere I thought I had read that he was there for a few days!!!??? Anyway....poor baby, I hope he is somewhere safe. |
