Can anybody adopt a 6 yo yorkie in the Bay Area?! 2 Attachment(s) She's going to surrender her to the shelter soon! "Million is a 6 years old female pureblood Yorkie. She is sweet, sensitive and intelligent. She likes to play toys with people and is very curious. She needs to find a better family since I cannot provide her a good environment. She likes to be the only pet in the household and is very loyal to the owner and the mature family (no little kids under 10 years old or babies currently and in the next 5 years). She is around 6 lsbs and spayed with current shots. I would like to find a responsible owner who can make commitment to take care of her for the rest of her life. There are no adoption fees. However, I have to ask the background about you and your family to ensure that she can find the happiness in her future." A toy-sized yorkie looks for a home |
Sent her an email about YTNR. |
Hooray! Anyway here is more info on Million-- Hi, Sam: I got her from a breeder friend last March after she had 3 litters in the breeder house. She was a breed dog before. And you can imagine how well she was trained or be cared from the breeder house. I fixed her when I got her. She was trained to go to dog door when she was a puppy and later was potty trained within house when she was 4 years, which confused her totally. I tried to potty trained in house. So far, she only can got 60% right. Since you have yorkie before, you should know this breed is notorious in potty training due to their stuborness. She is very smart in learning things other than potty training. Due to her litters before, she is not strong in bladder, which is not good for the crate training. She needs a secured yard or patio with a dog door for her natural business. She also starts to develop cataract, which probably caused by the in appropriate care by the breeder. I did not give her up due to the above reasons. The main reason that I give up is she cannot get along with my puppy and cause the aggression behavior of other dogs. If she does not cause so many dog fights in my house, I will still keep her even with the above conditions. She does not like drinking water. Sometimes, you have to give her some wet food for the health issues. This is the true situation about her. I delete most of her pictures. I don't have that many left. See attached pictures about her. Let me know if you are still interested in. Thank you. wy |
Ok, slightly strange ^^^, but as Susi said, there are a few YTNR reps up north that I know personally that can and will take this little one in. Samantha, do you know this person personally? or just came across the ad? That info would be very helpful. ETA: Ok i understand now. I'll email as well. |
She emailed me back: Hi, Priscilla: I will keep in mind. I will send the yorkie girl back to the original owner (the breeder). If there is any issues later with her, I will use your web. Thank you. wy Doesn't sound like the original owner took that good care of her to begin with, but at least she didn't say she was bringing her to the shelter. |
My boss was looking for a yorkie and came across the ad on Craigslist. I don't know her personally, but yeah sounds like she was mistreated ): She's been on Craigslist for several months now |
Oh she's sending her back to the breeder? That's better than the shelter..she wrote this to my boss on the 25th: "Please let me know ASAP. I plan to submit her to the shelter if she cannot find a new home. wy" Thanks for emailing her guys. I don't know of any rescues.. I looked at the sticky but the areas weren't listed. |
Well, don't know about it being better. She got her from the breeder, her friend, after she was retired (and spayed), but is aggressive and picks fights. Didn't seem like the breeder took good care of her, and now she's headed back there. :( Anyway, I did tell her about ytnr, so if it doesn't work out, hopefully rescue will pick her up. |
im from the bay area and saw her on craigslist, about a week ago i emailed her that i was interested and never heard back from her. I really hope she finds a good home. |
