I just saw this list for Free Yorkie Puppies on Craigslist I'm not sure how legit it is, but I figured it would post it here. I don't know who would be giving away free yorkies but if anyone is interested here it is. FREE PURE BREED YORKIES |
It's already been flagged for removal, guess we may never know what the deal was. Poor pups, hope they find good homes:( |
wow that was a quick removal. |
It's back up. I called and got a machine. I didn't leave a message. If I can get hold of them and this is legit I'd be willing to drive to MD to pick pups plus mom and dad up and take them into rescue. such a shame. E. |
Wow. I just went to look and it was down again! |
When first came to YT I found an add for Free Yorkies and it was a scam. They were in Cameroon and only wanted money for shipping or something. I reported them after emailing back and forth for 2 days. |
I just looked and it's up. I don't know what's going on, but I can't imagine it's legit. |
It's a scam - there's a big article coming out on one of the news shows... Cameroon africa is the hub of free yorkie scams. All you pay is "shipping," except there is no dog. NO ONE is going to be giving away a healthy yorkie puppy, come on people! |
I got scammed to Hello my name is Tammi Franklin I wish I would have been on here sooner I just paid for 2 puppies from them them went and spent 135 on other stuff cause I really wanted one and my sister now we both are upset and broke |

Not sure if the ad I saw was the same one but I saw a similar one on craigslist for free yorkies last week. I knew it had to be a scam so I texted them to see how they went about it...I kept at the why would they give them away question and of course they love them like children and just want a good home for them, no dollar amount to put on the love they feel...when I responded with the question if the parents were their own pets and could I come pick them up they never responded. :-). Didn't get far enough for $$$ figures. Then I flagged it. Yorkie puppies for free...good luck finding for real ;-) |
I think the real lesson here is just to not trust anyone selling pups on Craiglist. A couple years ago when I was still clueless about yorkies and teacups, I saw ads on Craigslist very much like this one. I contacted three different people. Then I heard about the Cameroon scam so I looked at the IP Addresses for each person. Guess what--they were all the same person! Even though they all had different names, they sent me the exact same email (bad punctuation, grammar, wording) and only changed the names of the puppies). Guess where the IP Address was from? YOU GUESSED IT!! CAMEROON!!! |
When it comes to the animals sold on Craigslist you can trust a very little amount of people there. My sister in law got lucky adopting a 4 year old yorkie from there, the previous owners definitely took very good care of him. I hope those pups find a good home :( |
This is a very old thread... |
