2 Senior Yorkies Need Home 4 Attachment(s) Two Yorkies were dropped off by their owners at a high-kill animal shelter near Austin, TX. They are male, aged 12 & 14, but seem and act younger. (we know how that works! :-) One takes two pills a day to prevent seizures & the other is a little arthritic. Both are housebroken. The person who rescued them can only foster for a couple of days longer, and my house is at capacity with fosters. I'm contacting all the resources I can think of, but I know there are Yorkie-lovers in this area, having conversed with some of you. If you can help by fostering, or better still, adopting these two dogs, please let me know. They deserve a chance to live out their lives in a loving home. I think they'll be even more adorable once they're groomed and cared for! Thanks! |
WOW - it never seems to amaze me what some owners will do... Thanks for saving them. I really do hope they can stay together as they are a bonded pair :) |
Hopefully.... Thanks, But they're not safe yet. I can't bring them home...have a 3-dog limit where I live & I have two old fosters + my own. I just hope the woman who took them from the shelter will hang on until someone else steps up! |
WHen I read stuff like this my blood pressure goes up 60 points. I know each owners situation is different, but if they dropped them off because of age, the owners should be taken out and given one good azz wooping! I kope they can live out their remaining years with a nice family. |
I will never understand it, shame on people who do this to their pets  I hope someone can help these sweet yorkies, they deserve to live out their remaining years happy together, not in a kill shelter waiting to die! :( |

There really aren't any in this area....I'm it for United Yorkie Rescue & I 'm full. That's another thing I'd love....if some more Yorkie owners would apply to be foster families...no matter where you live. UYR, like all others, needs more homes. There are members in many different states, and more dogs could be saved if there were more foster homes. If anyone can help, go to unitedyorkierescue.org to fill out an application to become a foster home. The short time I've been with this group has shown me how wonderful they are and the lengths they will go to to save a dog! But without more people, there is only so much that can be done. Of course, all rescue groups have the same problem, sadly. Thanks! |
