She follows voices. I asked Jen if she can see at all...she is not sure if perhaps she might have some vision in the one eye; but she does know that Roriee reacts to her voice.

if the foster mom covers one eye and kind pokes in front of the other eye does she blink? blinking is good, it means she can see shadows at the very least. in all her pictures i just can't help but stare at her googly eyes, its so sad.

On her initial neuro exam they thought she was blind. I believe there was a question about it...I will ask about it.

Even if she was not able to see as long as she is no longer in pain that is what really matters :)

Oh, no doubt about that. Her screaming was just awful. :( It makes me feel so good to see her like she is now. I know Jen feels better...she really agonized at first...making decisions with a pup like that is hard. You don't want to make them suffer...if you cannot help them you have to know when to say enough. I think everyone here knows about that.

the screaming they do just rips through your heart when they are in pain.

Roiree and I share having had encephalitis. I guess we have that in common. I recovered, and hopefully she will too. My initial prognosis was pretty bleak, but as I improved, the "Experts" all changed their long term outlooks. There is always hope. I am gld to see her taking small steps each day.

Oh I am so excited that Roriee is doing better. The power of prayer is grand. I was so happy to come on here tonight and see this thread. Thank you for bringing it back. I can not get through the day without my Roriee updates.

She's 1/4 Chihuahua, though. I thought her bulging eyes were just Chi eyes.

She looks great, though! GME is such a terrible disease. I am so glad she is now able to get it treated and is responding to the chemotherapy.

Rioree is such a special little girl I pray there is a special miracle just for her.

Her foster mom was talking about her big ears and how cute she thinks they are...I told her that I thought she had chi in her. She really is a cutie pie! :)

Seeing the new Roriee pictures on Yorkie Haven and on this thread, just made my day. She looks darling.

I really do believe in the power of prayer and will continue praying for Roriee. Also, thanks to all those that are working with her.

Here is what Roriee's FM said about her vision:


I have brought my finger near the front of her eye and she did blink. When we first brought her in they said she was blind because she didn’t respond to anything. The way she moves from things sometimes makes me believe she can see something, just not necessarily what it is. I have also noticed her eyes are not going back and forth as much as they were before. Maybe the medicine is helping with that as well.
