FREE to a GOOD home Hello i have two yorkie brothers that are free to a good home. They are both AKC registered. They were born July 12, 2009. Their tails were docked and their dew claws removed. The biggest one's name is Notorious, he is 11 pounds and was truly a surprise in the litter. He is a handful and is quite rambunctious. We have had a hard time finding him a home because he has gotten used to being around his parents and my family, and has always been brought back the next day, and his size has deterred people too. The youngest ones name and the runt of the litter is Wilber, he is about 2.5-3lbs. He was adopted by a young couple who recently seperated and brought him back to us with a severe ear infection which we are currently treating. Both dogs are paper trained, and Notorious will go outside if given the opportunity. They haven't been crated since they were puppies, so they don't like it and tend to wine. These two are only available as a pair and pick up only in Sandusky Ohio. We really want them to find good homes, we are really attached to them and want them to stay together at their forever home. They are good with other small dogs and really need a good home. They have been eating Innova brand dog food small bites. If your interested in these two and would like pictures please email me at seanwestbrooks@yahoo.com |
I cringe when I see where anyone is giving a dog away for free. You never know where they will end up. They could end up being sold separately by whoever, or worse, they could end up sold to labs or used as bait dogs. Please don't say "free". Also when someone wants to adopt, ask them for their Vet's name and # so you can do a back ground check. |
Please don't give dogs for free, this is a public site and a lot of wackos see this and may abuse the situation of these two innocent pups. Consider a reputable Yorkie rescue. Or please charge a small rehome fee and check Vet references to ensure their safety. |
I appreciate your concern for the puppies, but I'm well aware of the kinds of people that are out there. I wouldn't just give them away to the first person that responded to my post. I'm not in it for the money, I'm only concerned with finding the two a good home with someone or a family that will love them and take care of them. My family and I have gotten very attached to them and would make sure that whoever we decided to give them to would be the best possible home for them. |
I just want to wish you luck on finding them a new home. |
I would really encourage you to consider giving them to a reputable Yorkie rescue, especially since these guys have been rehomed before and returned. That is so hard on them. A rescue will screen potential owners so that the perfect forever home can be found. Since they have such a large number of applicants, they have a much greater selection of people to choose from. You can specify that they go together, too. |
Please be sure to check vet references on anyone who is interested in these boys. Make sure they have a history of having provided good veterinary care for any previous pups....especially Heartworm preventatives. |
I would also call animal control/shelter. Sadly you can not trust what people say, you have to have documentation or proof from other sources...not just the people interested in the dogs... |
If I were closer, I would ask for them just to know they were safe. |
Just pm'd you :D |
Petfinder has a sample questionnaire for potential adopters: Dog Adoption Application: Sample Shelter Forms: For Shelters |

Thanks everyone for your responses, i will respond to everyone's emails with pictures and more information. I really appreciate everyones concern for them, but i wont take them to a rescue, if i cant find them a home then we will just keep them, i do not need to adopt them out its just that i didn't have any intention on having 4 dogs. It would be nice though to find them a permanent home. Once again I'm working on assembling some pictures for everyone that is interested, and should have them sent out later tonight. One more thing, all we are asking for is $170, this covers the cost of their neuter (its $85 a piece) this will ensure that they wont end up at a puppy mill. Thanks |
