Bob I have been looking for this thread! I can't wait to meet Spike! We may have to do another Suntree Cafe breakfast with the pack ;) :D |
Suntree Cafe Sounds like a great idea. We will be out of town this weekend and a friend will be pup sitting. Next week? Leave a VM/PM. The folks at the Suntree Cafe and "my groomer:D" all want to meet Spike/Zipp. Gotta keep the "Z"'s going. |

Zipp is cute! I was wondering if you were gonna try to teach that old dog a new name :D How 'bout Zyke? Zing? Zang? Zane? |

Zipp (Spike) one year later Just bringing all YTers up to date on the old guy/15 yrs old who was dropped/dumped at an Ohio shelter b/c, so they said, of new carpet. Well, Zipp is now 16 (?) slowed down a little but still can hop up onto "his" new Lazy Boy reclining love seat. He lets JB sit on the other side. He has been an absolute joy and turned into a little cuddler. Still has no problems holding his poop/pee although some mornings (5AM) he pushes the younger pups aside b/c he has to really go. He's a little scruffier than the pic last March but he is well fed, taken care of, and most importantly, LOVED. |
phew! This thread was started before I joined YT and my heart just sank as I realized that it was an old thread about an aged dog with a new posting. What a relief to find that you were sharing how well he is doing with the group. What a generous thing you have done - rescuing this dog. I bet his life with you is a thousand times better than the life he had with the original owners. |

It is so great to hear a good update. I just don't know how anyone can give up one for carpets. He must be so happy to be spending his golden years in a loving home. |
It's great to hear that he's doing great :) Thanks for updating us!! But... I think your update should include pictures?! |
Oh, I am so thrilled to read a happy update and thank you for taking him into your life and home. :) |

What a nice update! So glad to hear good news for a change. Thank you for rescuing him. |
Thanks for sharing the pics. That's a yorkie couch!:p Spike/Zipp wouldn't be here now, if not for you. |
What a great way to spend his golden years. |
What a great story! Being loved is what we all need, especially when we get "old". |

wow you are so awesome for saving him and giving him the best home for his golden years...how horrible. you just wonder what the hell some people think. selfish and stupid so i guess maybe they dont. so glad this story was a happy one thanks to people who make a difference like you!!! |
Ya know this just made me realize that I will never have carpeting again, seriously...never. At present, I have an area rug in my living room. I have replaced it 2x because...well you guys know why, but I purchased an upright shampooer just for that rug, I will use it when/if I need to, but the carpeting can always be replaced...I can't imagine ever giving my babies up...and I do recall a time long ago when I did have to give up my pets...and I vowed then and there that I will never be put in that situation again..let alone ever have to do that to another pet...my grief over that is still deep. But it was total different circumstances, and I can't conceive that anyone would ever do such a thing over carpeting...omg, unacceptable... |
You are truly an ANGEL for giving this little guy a loving home to spend his senior years. I know he loves you for that. |
