Sometimes a story just tugs at your heart strings and you have to act.
I flew from Melbourne FL to Columbus OH and back Feb 27 to adopt Spike. He is a sweet little old guy who is House Trained. He lets me know when he has to go potty, holds his potty very well. The vet visit Mon 3/1 indicated that the only thing really wrong with him was some dental and he's 15 years old. The next day he got a nice bath and grooming. He is a spry(?) 15. He will hop up onto the couch, and the top of the back and stands his ground at breakfast, supper and treat time. He's 7 1/2 lbs and I suspect he'll put on another pound or two. He was definitely worth the trip. I'll be posting pictures of him and the other pups next day or so.
:) | What a wonderful person you are to have come to the rescue for little Spike. Your act of kindness brings tears and reminded me of one of my favorite quotations:
******************************
I looked at all the caged animals in the shelter … the castoffs of human society. I saw in their eyes love and hope, fear and dread, sadness and betrayal, and I was angry.
I said “God, this is terrible. Why don’t you do something?”
God was silent for a moment and then spoke softly. “I have done something,” ” I created you!” |
