Scared Priscilla - Indy Shelter - Such a sweet face This little girl has such a sweet face. I hate that she is so scared in the shelter so thought I would post her up to see if anyone in Indy or near could help her out.... Adopt a Yorkshire Terrier Yorkie: Priscilla: Petfinder |
I am waiting on a response from the shelter with more info on her and fees etc. |
Oh, she's adorable!! Those big eyes of hers look so sad. |
She looks tiny!! no wonder she is so scared! Did only the one pic show up when you looked at her link? |

I spoke with the shelter. They didn't know too much... She had no clue on her age..anywhere from 2-4 but that was a shot in the dark guess. She is tiny, but quote "not like a teacup" (her words) but not even 5 lbs. 4-4.5 lbs was her estimate. The poor little thing was found as a stray. She is terrified. She was adopted out and the owners had to bring her back. They had a small neutered male, the more she was around him the more she was aggrevated by him and turned 'snippy'. She truly is very frightened. But is a complete sweetheart with all people. Due to her fear they strongly feel she should not be in a home with children or other dogs. Her adoption fee: $200. |

I didn't ask, I'm sorry. Wasn't really sure how to go about that. |

Oh, no....don't be sorry! |
Sadly, when I called to ask if they would release her to a rescue. She declined and said she would only be released for the $200 and would not even negotiate for a rescue. :( Hopeuflly, this little one will be able to fall into the hands of a good owner and get a forever home where she can put her bad life thus far behind her. |
Anyone have Yorkie jail bail money? :D YHR was given a donation from a YT member the other day for Cosmo, they wouldn't release without the fee being paid. |

Sounds like they are not so careful...poor thing was returned once. Shelters like that who don't cooperate and just put a yorkie in someone's hands that come in with the money bother me, but what can you do? I will pray that the next time they place her it will be a good home. |
Poor girl! Hopefully the next person that adopts her is able to help calm her a bit. I would be scared too! |
This is why good shelters release to rescue. So that they are placed properly and don't end up back in the system....they need to be out of the shelter for a minimum of two weeks before you can even come close to evaluating their needs. The goal should be placing the pup in the home best suited to his/her needs...not just any home that wants a pup. It is quite a different story placing a puppy as opposed to an adult that has already been hurt by life and life's bs and stupid people. |
