The stork just dropped a little one at the Haven!

Oh my! LadyJane is on her way home from picking up a owner surrender 3 month old puppy! She is adorable and LJ promised to post some pictures as soon as she gets home.

I just got off the phone with her and she is a nervous wreck. You could drop off any full grown yorkie at her front door and she wouldn't blink an eye. Mange, LP, liver shunt, blind, sick, you name it, it would not phase her one little bit. But a tiny little sweet puppy nearly gave the poor woman a heart attack. :sidesplt: I have a feeling she will be in love in no time at all. :luv:

You will have to watch for her to post :2photo: both on this thread as well as the YHR site! She is a little doll! :D

erickajm 06-14-2009 03:48 PM

How sweet! Can't wait to see the pictures!

Jodi,

Yes, I can believe a 3 month old puppy turned over to Rescue would make LadyJane a nervous wreck. A number of years ago, I was at Sydney's sire's breeders, and we were all sitting around the picnic table in her backyard, talking, when a lady came in and handed over a 5 month old puppy.

The puppy was adorable and the lady was crying. Her husband made her give up the puppy. Personally, I'd have given up the husband.

OK goofball..I am not a nervous wreck....I just hate puppies! :p

She is a cutie pie, though...here is a picture of her meeting the gang.

Oh, yes, we can really see that you hate puppies. :D

She looks like she fits right in with the gang.

Poor baby though, probably wondering why her Mama isn't there.

Ah -- looks like she fit right in! I wondered how many people pay attention to the contract when it says to make sure to contact the breeder for the puppy to go back to them if anything does not work out. I sure hope no one ever surrenders my puppies without giving them back to me. I have only let two go to people I did not already know well or outside the family. I am going to try to keep in contact with those two as well.

Send that little girl to me! I love puppies! :)

I know where she came from and trust me, she is better of with me than returning to the mill. If she had come from a reputable breeder, I myself would have recommended this person contact the breeder. I also do that when people try to surrender pups that came from other rescues.

I will make sure she has a wonderful forEver home!

Glad you rescued her from the mill. I know you will most definitely find her a FOREVER home.

Ah, I have read enough of what you do to know you love them all! I was just kidding, although if she really needed a home, I would be open to that. I am sure with a little puppy, you will have no problem finding her a forever home!

That is nice that you do try to get puppies back to the good breeders. I have also seen the tear-wrenching videos here of puppymills to understand why you would never send one back to them either. I have to admit, before coming to YT I really did not realize what a puppymill was. Sure I knew there were places that stacked cages in cement building to make the $$$ but I never dreamed there were people who were so cold-hearted as to thoroughly abuse and neglect the dogs just to make $$$. Seeing the condition of those poor dogs in the puppymill bust videos made my blood boil.

I am straying from your happy thread, sorry. Best wishes in finding all of your wards the best of health and great new homes!

I love the picture! Look at your pack and right smack dab in the middle of all the fun is Rosie! :p I knew she would win that heart over with her cuteness. :D

erickajm 06-14-2009 07:37 PM

That picture made me laugh! Puppy was probably thinking.. what the hell? That one should be submitted to the calendar... if you turn your head just a bit to the left, the yorkies resemble a little flower with pup in the middle!

bettyeanne 06-14-2009 08:26 PM

 That poor baby looks overwhelmed! :) Give it a day or so and it will just join the "pack"!! Can you imagine what was going through that little head?? ;) Congratulations, Linda, looks like you have another baby!

They do that with any new ones...I quickly know if a pup is aggressive or not. None of them are mean...they are just nosey. If one goes out, they know what to expect when they come home....plenty of sniffs! :D
She was stunned...but in a couple of minutes, was running around chasing all of them. It really was so cute!

YorkieShadow 06-14-2009 09:30 PM

Ah That poor little one looks so scared. Having all those other dogs coming up to her like that had to be very scary for her at first. we always introduced our rescues to the pack one at a time. she looks like such a sweet heart.

hartygirl 06-15-2009 08:25 AM

She looks cute! All your pups look darling in summer cuts! Idk what I'd do with a puppy again it's been so long since I had one that young! I'll just bring my big purse when I'm in your neck of the woods next week and maybe you'll just look the other way........:p

She is just fine! I know LJ and trust me, Rosie is now having the time of her life!

I have to agree! She couldn't be in any better hands than with Linda. :)

I promise Megan that when she jumps into your purse I will not say a word. I'll just grab it and take her onto the plane with me back to IL with me.:sidesplt:

:thumbup: I know exactly what you mean!! Trish's pack greets us that way and are all jumping up and they keep on until I put Toto down! Poor Toto ... now I just drop her in the middle as soon as we walk in the door and after everyone gets their fill of sniffing & greeting they are just business as usual.

That baby is adorable ... you will have lots of fun! :)

This is a rescue puppy which is very unusual to even come across. If a family surrenders a pup it is done with the understanding that we will keep the circumstances confidential. Just assume it is a very sad story for someone to give up a puppy. :(
