OMG ~ I just couldn't stand it.... I contacted Save a Yorkie - they have a Long Island Volunteer, so I left her a message about this little one :( Then I called the Shelter. She was found as a stray and brought in on 5/9 ~ They have to hold her for 5 dys giving the owner an opportunity to claim her. The girl I spoke with said that there are people that have expressed interest in her and have filled out apps for her. She will be available for viewing on 5/14 and anyone that is interested should go fill out an application and then has to show up on 5/14 :aimeeyork I feel a tiny bit better.... |

I just found this post. I work with a rescue group and we had our eye on her. We picked her up on Friday night. Saturday morning she was at my vets office. My heart is breaking for her. She was in so much pain. When I got her home Friday night (1am) she wasnt able to stand on her back legs too long, she kept falling over. She has no hair on her back and pimples with dark pigment spots. The vet told me she thought she had cushings, Patellar luxation, and maybe a dislocated hip. We only did bloodwork- she was too sore to xray. The vet gave me pain meds for her. She slept in her bed and would not move. I took her bed and sat with her on my deck on Saturday and just kept looking at her. Saturday night I came on here and seen the thread from Willies Mom regarding cushings. My gut was telling me that is NOT what she had- poor nutrition, maybe thyroid was what I was feeling. Sunday mid morning she was actually walking around and giving her paw. Looking at the paperwork from the shelter we discovered they gave her every shot possible on Friday before we got her-rabies, kennel cough, all routine shots, wormer-everything. I was so mad. I am thankful she survived it. By yesterday afternoon, my gut was telling me duh- that is why she was in pain from shots and arthritis. Her bloodwork came back this morning normal. Sorry such a long post, but I am so thankful we rescued her. |
she is cute i wish i could get her , just dont got the money to do it |

I hope she find a wonderful home but in the meantime I'm so glad she's safe and sound with you. |
Bless your heart and hers. I don't understand why educated vet's and personel continue to load up little dogs with these drugs! If we, as laypeople, understand how dangerous this is to toy dogs why the hell don't they? |
