that is very sad. I hope someone can rescue her! |
If I had the money and means to get her I would but I don't :( She is cute!!! |
oh the poor thing...I hope someone looking for a pet to love gets her.... |
This is just so sad! |
I wonder why they have had her all this time and never bred her themselves? Something doesn't see right to me. This sounds like a good situation for YTNR. Buy her for $200.00 and sell her for $500.00. |
I hope she gets a good home:( |

Oh, you've noticed that about YTNR, too, huh? |

Also WHY is YTNR so expensive compared to other rescues?? Many of the dogs pictures have been on there for almost a year?? Hope this little one gets a good home. |

there are a few on there that their adoption fees are $2,000. |

Sorry this is a bit off topic but at least on resue. Lets get back to getting this little one a good home. |
Let me try to explain why some of the dogs in rescue have high fees. Let's take my Truman. I went and picked him up at the kill shelter in IN and he was very sick. Although there was no fee to "pull" him out of the shelter there were a lot of vet bills. I took him to my vet for an initial evaluation, blood work and medicine to make him well. That bill was $150. Then I had to take him back to the vet because he had something protruding out of his rectum which turned out to be an anal gland ademona from never being neutered $45. Then he had to be neutered, dental and had 6 tooth extractions the bill for this $168.. Then he was also microchipped, all of his immunizations, heartworm pills and pain meds $97. Now let's add this all up: 150 45 168 97 460 *Truman is also on a daily arthritis medicine that costs $38 a month that I haven't figured into the above. He is listed for adoption for $150. Now granted Truman had a nice amount of donations for YT but that is usually not the case with most of the dog. I would also like to add to this that my vet give HUGE discounts for our rescue and that is not always the nom either. So at this point even if Truman was adopted out tomorrow for the $150 adoption fee his care is still barely covered. I would like to see where there is a dog on a rescue site that is $2000  I even took a look to at the YTNR site and didn't see any dogs on there with that as an adoption fee. Legitimate rescues are 501 (c)3 not for profit organizations and do not make any profit. Not to say there are not some people out there trying to hide behind the name "rescue" to make a profit so you need to do research on who and what you are dealing with in rescue. That is a very sad FACT. |

Jodi, Takea look at YTNR's site, scroll down to Ellie in Tennessee, her adoption fee is $2,000. Also, the Maltese, Itty Bitty's fee was $2,000. and they just recently changed it to $525.00 Sheila |
The Origional topic Has any one helped this puppy? someone needs to PLease and stop talking about other rescues Open a new thread to do that please. I will go get her if yt wants to donate to get her and find a good pet home... |
Has anyone replied to her ad to know if she is still available? If not, let me know and I will. Maybe we could get a train for her. |

This is what I just reply to the ad. I know this is not of my business. But advertising your dog as a breeder for only $250 will attract LOTS of puppy mills owners. They will trick you coming as a family. If you care about that cute little one, removed the great breeder comment. Best regards. I always reply something like to those kind of ad. Hoping they have just no clue and don't have any bad intention. Nothing to loose trying right. |
Glad you sent her something. I'm thinking about sending her an email telling her about OKYR and see if she would be interested. But since she is mentioning breeding her I'm not sure she would consider a rescue. |
I wish I was closer... I would be willing to help :( |
I sent her an email and this is the reply that I got. hi im saleing nickie she came from one of my females.i keep her longer then i was going to.and she had one litter of puppys.she is for sale now and she is a great yorkie.and healthy.loves everyone |

Awww to bad.. poor little one. |
I dont want to derail this thread but I am a volunteer with YTNR and they have taken on dogs that no other rescue will take. I do not know of any dog they have ever turned away in my area because of health, age or cost of medical. Yes some of the dogs have high adoption fees. You have to recoup the $ somewhere. My last 3 fosters adoption fees were WAY under their actual costs. If YTNR were to take this dog for $200 she would then need to be spayed, microchipped, UTD on shots and dental. What do you think the cost of that is?????? Reputable rescues are not making $ on dogs. The $2000 dog on the website has already cost them over that in medical and she will need an adopter that can continue to afford these kind of bills. |
Just tried to contact her about this little girl. I would have been more than willing to buy her, but the ad is already gone. I hope she went to a good home. :-/ |
The ad is down.... If she's still available, I'll pay half of the cost if someone from here wants to go get her and keep her as a pet!! Contact me on my work cell: 847.682.4954 If I don't answer, I'm out training dogs, just leave a message! |

And yes, I know for a fact, that YTNR is not making money from their Rescues. I would say, if they manage to break even, they're lucky. I suspect, many peole think Rescue is an inexpensive way to get a Yorkie, but they need to realize, that many of these dogs will have lifelong medical issues. I spent 35 years Fostering Orphanded Wildlife, with no donations, until I moved to IN, and my Wildlife Vet provided me medications at no cost. I wish I could afford to adopt Ellie, but if I spent the $2,000. on her adoption fee, I'd be spending money I would need for her on-going medical bills. I know, someone will adopt her though. |
