My name is Max and I'm looking for a special home. I am 7-years-young and am a neutered male Yorkie. I thought that everything was going great in life. I had a family, a special kid, a warm bed, and my very own dog bowl, but then I heard my guardian say that they couldn't take care of my anymore. I don't know what I had done wrong. I tried to be the best companion I could, listening for noises at night and being a great companion. All of that came to an end though when I needed surgery for stones. I didn't feel very well, and I felt very alone and confused. But I'm a fighter and am trying to make the best of it! My surgery went well and I'm feeling much better. The special food I have to eat from now on is pretty good, too. I can be opinionated at times and speak up for myself if I'm not comfortable with people, but it's only because I know the type of home I'd like to have! I hope that someone with a quiet, adult home, a soft bed, lots of love, and a food bowl with my name on it, will find me and take me home. I am from the East Bay, 3 minutes from Pleasant Hill. I am going to call about little Max tomorrow. I will post any updates or information. He really is a cutie!

I just called and talked to a person at the Clinic. The person who has all of the information on him won't be in until tomorrow at 9. I believe her name is Bonnie. The person I talked to said the adoption fee was $100 and that it was a donation towards all of the animals they take in. If you are interested you can call and they will fax you an adoption form to fill out. His little face broke my heart. I know my two little ones would be devastated if I gave them away. 510-222-9966

It's almost been a week! Nobody went to get him??! Poor thing, someone go get him...give him a permanent loving home. Lee...what's the verdict?

He is sooooo cute and I can only imagine how scared and lost and lonely he must feel. 7 years of being someones luv-bug and now he calls the animal hospital his home...(I am crying right now)

He deserves to have a loving home of his own and $100 adoption fee is a steal for that cute face!

I am on the East Coast, so I can't rush to adopt like I would do in a heartbeat if I had easy access to him....

Just so you all know, he had surgery to remove the stones. With proper diet and supplements, he CAN remain stone free :thumbup:

I left a message yesterday, and just received a call back. Apparently Max has become a very popular little man. They are still accepting applications. Their application process for the clinic is to come in and spend some one on one time with Max while Bonnie who is overseeing his adoption talks with you. I thought he was at the Co Co Humane Society, but he is at the El Sobrante Clinic which is a little further away. They are open until 7:00 tonight, so I am going to do my best to get over there this evening. I always say it will work out if it was meant to be. I saw that today when I went back to Petfinder to look at his picture and information more closely. It does say way down on the bottom the El Sobrante Clinic is were he is staying and it was a courtesy listing for them. It also does not say what his adoption fee is either. The $100 is for a dog from their shelter. Maybe you should ask what the adoption fee is, it might be the cost of his surgery which would be pretty high.

I talked to a person at the Clinc when I called last night and she said it was a $100 donation.

I too called and talked to them about Max. They have received about 15 calls on him. I told the lady it's because his story and pic is on yorkietalk.com
She was wondering why so much interest in him. People have called from all over including one call from New York.

She did tell me that a lady near their office is bringing in her Yorkie on Sat. to see if they get along and if they do, she will be adopting Max.

Max may already have his forever home, and Bonnie (the woman in charge of finding Max a family) really feels that this is a good place for Max.
However, if things do not work out on Saturday, I was placed on a "list" of contacts who had fell in love with Max. (Application Interview). Thank you John for your post. I made the call before I headed out to El Sobrante after seeing your post.
I let Bonnie know that there will probably be a few follow up calls on Max's situation, thanks to YT. She was thrilled with our inquiries, interests and compassion. Really felt like it was a shout out to YT.

I am so glad he has found a possible forever home. It does not surprise me that there have been so many calls. Last week Bella received hundreds of calls while she was at the shelter in UT. llcornell had to explain that there was so much interest because she too was posted on YT!

Here is ant update....Max was adopted outo a wonderful, loving forever home on Friday. I hope he is doing well!
