Sweet boy needs forever home I was wondering if there was anyone out there who could take in this precious boy. He was left at the rescue by his family and is not doing well. He is very sad without his family. My husband and I are currently fostering a few dogs one of which is blind another blind and deaf, plus a schnauzer HW+ , a Cocker who is HW+ , plus we have 4 dogs of our own. If we had more room I would take him in a heartbeat. Silke Terrier for adoption from Hearts United for Animals - national no-kill animal shelter, sanctuary and animal welfare organization. Thanks, Terry |
I'm not sure you are aware of this type of scam we have been seeing here in the US (not saying your one of them) so when someone posts a free dog, then wants money to fly the dog here and if anyone sends money, they never hear from that person again. Panama is full of wonderful people, and I'm sure you won't have any problems finding this boy a perfect home there. ;) |
I cannot vouch a 100% on this rescue but I have been receiving emails and newsletters from them for over 5 years. They publish a wonderful brochure and tell heartfelt stories of what has happened to their rescues. At this stage of the game I would not say they are a scam but again I have never worked with them or talked to anyone in the organization. |
The shelter is in Nebraska according to their webpage and the OP is not from Panama...she is from Panama City...I believe that's in Florida. |
Just a quick reply. First off I am in Panama City, FL which IS in the United States. Second my husband and I rescue dogs and right now we have a bunch. We have 4 Cockers 2 mini schnauzers and 1 Yorkie. I look around the internet to find babies that need help. I found this poor baby and he really touched me so I joined this forum to see if someone could help him. I would if I didn't already have so many. Third HUA (Hearts United for Animals) is a NATIONAL NO-KILL SHELTER. You can check them out. Fourth this baby is not free. His adoption price is 200.00. So again I ask please send this to people to know who might be able to help him out. I DO NOT BELIEVE THIS IS A SCAM. I cannot be 100% sure but I do not think so. |
bumping this up- this poor little guy needs a home so badly. |

I am wondering if they have been in existence for so long why they do not have a 501c3...not that it makes them legit. It just seems odd to me. I see that they have a spay/neuter clinic. So...they may very well be legit. I just am not understanding exactly what they do....do they have foster homes in various states? They don't say where each dog is. |

TAM/OP can you please give us more information about this shelter that this little guy is located at? When I went to the website most of the links did not work properly. I would also like to know who owns/runs this shelter because I have never myself heard of them. |

They look very legitimate to me but who am I to say? Take a look for yourself Network for Good :: Search for a Charity |
They are legitimate. I have a friend in Iowa who went there with her husband and checked them out. They adopted a Pom from them. They could not speak, more highly of the shelter. Sheila |

You know I just joined this forum yesterday and I am really not impressed. If you look on their site they are 501C. There is contact info and you can go there and see the dogs. As far as national means is they take pets from anywhere that need help and place pets in homes ALL ACROSS THE US. They will only allow an adoption after all paperwork is submitted, there is a home visit done and references are checked. To me that sounds legit. Please I am only trying to help and it seems that there is so much negativity out there. Do any of you actually rescue pets???? Because we do and we know how it works and this organization DOES NOT SEND ME RED FLAGS. I also NEVER said that I back this organization I just simply asked for someone to help this baby. I am not forcing anyone to. Mabye there is someone on this forum who maybe lives near the shelter and can get hiim. My goodness!! I think I will have to change to a different Yorkie forum. Thank you to those who have a positive response and to the ones who actually bothered to check out the site. And I checked the links and they work fine. Maybe if there is one that doesn't work maybe the web address moved or is gone and HUA just wasn't alerted. They are very busy. I am sure because we only rescue up to 7 at once and we barely have time to breathe. I cannot imagine how busy they are HELPING OUR FALLEN BABIES. |

Terri, please read my post above, and also don't let a few people's posts give you the wrong impression of YT. My goodness, if a person hasn't heard of a shelter, it must not be legitimate. There are a lot of great people here. The links worked fine for me, as well. Again, I will say, The shelter is LEGITIMATE. Perhaps if you come in and post a few more babies from them, people will hear about them more. I receive their newsletter. Sheila |

I looked at the website and did not see that they are an approved charity. Good to know..thanks so much! I asked some questions. Did not see any red flags. Just did not get it since they said they are a rescue and it said shelter. I have been in rescue long enough now to ask questions since not all groups are what people think they are. Sadly, there are many puppy mills and/or high volume breeders who also call themselves rescues; so, I ask. So....thank you for your information...it is nice to learn about different groups! And...yes I rescue many and have been for a few years. |
Oh...and as for posting new babies, that is great.... ....I just wish more people would search for dogs that are not in rescues because they, to me, are the top priority! |
I have read the posts and appreciate all the positive ones. I am sorry to get so upset it is just that I want to help ALL the dogs that I can. I am not here to give any bad information. I check for red flags BEFORE I will post a dog. I usually work with Cocker forums and Schnauzer forums and so far have never given any info on a dog that was a scam. I just happened to be checking out a Cocker on their site and saw this little boy and he broke my heart. I have sent it out to everyone I know and then joined a Yorkie forum because obviously you would know more Yorkie lovers that might be able to help. I have read some other threads on this forum and have read a lot of replies that I thought were a bit over the line. There are very strict rules about that on the other forums we use. I was just a little taken aback. Sorry for anything unfriendly I may have written. Thank you all for what you are doing to save these precious babies. Okay enough with that. Now to the real business. Upon doing some more research I am even more impressed with this organization and wish that I lived closer to them so that I could volunteer to help them. Please take a second to click on these links and read a little more about what they do. They are very well known all around the US and Canada. *BTW most of us on the rescue section of YT are very nice, are involved in rescue and care very much for animals. |
Wow you are a negative nelly. I understand your need to help pets but you really should have respect for people and their feelings. I have read your ugly replies to other people as well. Great way to live. I thought this section was for rescue and dogs needing homes. This dog lives in a shelter he DOES NOT have a HOME. No he will not be put down but in his case is not doing well where he is and who knows, plenty of dogs die broken heart syndrom. You might want to research that. So I thought this one was IMPORTANT!!! Excuse me for caring. You are such a bitter person. You really need to stop trying to make people feel as bad as you obviously do. |

Huh? Am I missing something here? |
Sorry, I saw this boy at work and was just in a hurry to get him help. I didn't have time to put in my info. I did include some info about myself in the first post though. You all should question the legitimacy of an organization but I put the link on there which did clearly state they were 501c. I only had 5 minutes myself to read about them. I did go home and research them more. I did add the links that show that it is a good organization. I did thank all who were friendly and was only upset about some of the posts. I was also going by some threads I read last night where people slammed a woman for possibly needing to rehome her babies. I just thought that was a little disturbing. I apologize for anything bad I have written. My emotions got the best of me. |
Hopefully this can be put behind everyone and understand when it comes to animals we are all very passionate. I hope this baby finds a great home. |
Yes thank you. |

Just a suggestion~if you click either the "quote" or if you want to quote multiple people the one with the plus + we will know who you are talking to. It makes things much less confusing :) |
Ahh noted. Thanks |
OK so back to the dog. Does he still need a home? Everyone has the best of intentions, lets just help him. |
