Let's see some pictures! I would love to see more pictures of everyone who has a rescue pup and maybe a little background on were they came from and how they are today. Here are my three: Pebbles is a rehome from a coworker. She was given to a 1 yr old as a birthday present. It didn't work so well. She is 11 lbs of yorkie love and will be 2 yrs in April. Doodlebug is the puppy of an Amish puppymill rescue. His mom is a maltese and still at the rescue the last time I checked. :( He was only 10 weeks old when we brought him home and now he's 8 months. I actually applied for a 1 yr old yorkie but there was already an approved application for him and the rescue told me about him. He wasn't even up for adoption yet but I saw his picture and I was in love. He is a maltese and yorkie mix. Bogey is about 2 yrs old and came from JillandJack right here in the rescue forum! He was found on the side of a country road in IN and brought to a shelter. They thought he was a yorkie but when I went to see him you could see he was also a morkie. All three are in my avatar. :animal36 |
Buddy (was McQueen) I adopted McQueen. His name is now buddy. There were several posts of how I came to adopt himbut to make a long story short, when I got him he was starved, has double sets of teeth, and is missing teeth. He has been with us for a week now. He is putting weight on. He loves to follow everyone around and loves to sleep with mommy. He wags his tail, cleans himself, and barks. THese are things that he did not do before. It was such a different experience adopting a rescue. It was nice to know that we could provide this little guys an opportunity to have a forever home! |

4 Attachment(s) :luvu:Here are my four rescues. Sam was our first foster and we adopted him. He is 5 and had been dropped off at the shelter 5 times in 5 years. I dont know why because he's perfect :)Attachment 259265 Buddy was my second. 5 years old. He was used for breeding. He just found a great forever home and is doing so well. Sweetest little guy ever. :D Attachment 259263 Daisy is 3rd. 6 years old. Also a breeding dog. She is my little cuddle bug. Attachment 259264 Ella who everyone already knows. :angel2:Attachment 259266 |
Here's Olivia & Tucker 2 Attachment(s) Here is my 8 yr old rehomed little girl...Olivia. She's a retired breeder and only been with us 2.5 months but she settled down so quickly that it seems she's been here much longer. She is such a sweetheart. ;) And then there's 4 yr old little guy Tucker! He is a work in progress; we rescued him 2 weeks ago and are working on some behaviorial issues. He was picked up as a stray at the beginning of November; he was so flea infested that he has lost the hair on the back half of his body...but we're feeding good food and using good bath products and I THINK his hair is starting to grow back in! |
All our "kids" have been rescues. The two in the bed are DJ and Harley our first two yorkies. Zack and Zeke were adopted after DJ and Harley died in Jan 08. And the pretty shep mix Annie was our first rescue back in 11/93. Sadly Harley, DJ and Annie died w/in 6 weeks of each other. Zack and Zeke will be 3 and 2 in Jan. See my album for their pictures. |
Everybody's babies are so cute.:D |

I love, love, love all of the stories and pics!! I have some and will put them up...although I feel like I will be bombarding people with stuff they have already seen in other threads. I only have rescues....I probably would have bought years ago, but I moved to TX where yorkies get dumped all of the time and they tug at my heartstrings. They all know that they have been saved...those of you have posted know what I mean! They are such super great pets! |

This little girl changed my life so much! She is in fact the whole reason for starting to OK Yorkie Rescue. i have to admit that i had always bought my dogs until she came along.. and i probably will NEVER buy one again after seeing how all these ones need homes way more!! anyways.. here is lily when i got her and lily Now She only has like 3 teeth left so that's why her tongue is out in all the pictures :D |
