I read on a craigslist posting that people are stealing dogs :eek: and posting them on craigslist to make a quick buck. So keep an eye on your babies and get as much info if looking to adopt from craigslist just in case the furbutt was stolen. Its getting closer to the holidays and people like to steal during this time of yr. KEEP ALL eyes and ears open.

That is why I always preach to people about not leaving their pups outside unattended. It is, to me, one of the major drawbacks of doggy doors. I am not saying that to start a controversy about the use of doggy doors. Just food for thought.

I agree - they're fine for larger dogs but I'd be afraid with small breeds -

People SUCK and will do anything for a fast buck

Yeah I'm not big on doggy doors either, besides the furbutts going out no telling what could come in :eek: And I wouldn't risk my yorkie (when I get one) getting picked up by a hawk :eek::thumbdown

Having precious small ones outside, they can also catch Parvo. That's what took my Prudence away :(

Any tips, other than not leaving them outside unattended, on how to keep them extra safe? I hate people like this :mad:

When you have you dogs out with you on walks...and people ask about your babies....tell them that they are mixed or that they have health problems so they think the dog is worthless..and dont leave you doggie in the car...i have heard so many horror stories of people breaking in to peoples cars to get the dog inside

And i have also learned that some people steal small toy breeds to be bait for fighting dogs...to teach aggression :mad:

Keep them on leash when out... I do mine, always!!! Other than that, they are inside with doors locked!!!!!
