She got them at the dog auction which is a disgusting piece of business. A European breeder sold them to a breeder in the states and the breeder in the state brought them to the dog auction after he was done with them. We will continue to see this type of thing as long as the wrong people are getting their hands on these dogs. It will happen when "breeders/greeders" are not following what happens to their dogs (puppies) that they sell and if the majority of puppies they sell are for breeding. The Biewers do not go for the high dollars in europe that they do here in the states and many european breeders are selling whole litters for what some breeders here in the states are selling one pet quality biewer. In many cases, as this is a new breed, you will have many that are not to the standard but they do have the wonderful Biewer personality and will be great pets. I am thrilled that these 2boys will be neutered and placed into a loving family (s) and not just used for their reproduction organs.

Hats off to Kelz and the other ladies/families involved with Oklahoma Yorkie Rescue...great job everyone. Remember, it takes $$$ to run a reputable rescue to help save these little ones.

Is there any way to identify who got the biewers into the auction, in the first place? Or identify the breeder in Europe? Maybe the breeder needs to see pictures of what transpired for these puppies.

I agree with Living Dustmops that this is a horrible situation. It is way too early in canine history for the Biewers to be found in auctions, puppy mills, and awful homes. I've donated several times to the Biewers' rescue groups; time to do it again.

we do have all of that information but will not be releasing it.. we have est. a bond with this person and i can tell you that they do have more but will contacting me when they are done with their biewers. Aside from what they do the guy was very nice to me and i think he will work with me. This might be because he believes i too am a breeder.

I hope you can convince this "breeder" to let you know when he has biewers to contact you. And a heads up to any Biewer breeder to know where your puppies are going, and check references and do home visits....

We are lucky to get these two boys. Unfortunately this breeder will continue to sell puppies and most likely not on a spay/neuter contract. So, another byb will be in operation selling even more Biewers. Sadly, it's only a matter of time before biewers end up in shelters and more auctions.

But, do you think this is enough Dee? There have been many stories of breeders selling puppies on spay/neuter contracts and the new owner gets them registered with some other registry and breeds them anyway. I believe early spaying and neutering is the only way to stop this...in any breed.

I wish my Abby would have been spayed before I got her. Tomorrow she goes in for her spay and I have to say, I'm beyond stressed.

I have offered rebates--when I get proof of spay/neuter. I will not place Gumdrop before she is spayed. I have written on papers spay/neuter only or hold the registerations until I get the vet's certificates--but where there is a will, there is a way to get around it and register with the lesser registeries.

Again it goes back to checking references, googling names, addresses, etc., calling animal control, calling the rescues, calling city hall before the puppy leaves your hands and doing a home visit. If the breeder takes these precautions, there will be fewer needs to rescue whatever the breed.

Again good work to those involved in this rescue.

Here is a picture of Zeus. He is a big boy weighing in at 12 lbs. But he is so sweet and loving. His paws are stained and had a few mats, but his spirit had not been broke. He's going to be a great pet.

Here is Zeus. He will have to have surgery on his foot to remove something stuck in there. I think he had kennel cough and ear mites too.

We will get him all taken care of then he will be ready for adoption. He was 12 lbs.

OK, I know that this thread is about the 2 biewers but, I had to put this picture up. This is Mocha. He had a terrible hair cut when we picked him up. The groomer did the best she could with him. Isn't he just stinkin cute anyway.

No Zeus only had something wrong with his foot.. Talan the other biewer has an ear infection... and one of the yorkies we got is showing signs of kennel cough

Both the biewers and the yorkie are so adorable!!! Please keep us posted on all of them!!

Mocha is 18 mnths (ish) & weighs about 5 1/2 lbs, should weigh closer to 7 :( but we are already working on that
