Any yorkie rescues adopt to wives in the military? Hi everyone I'm new:wavey: I was wondering if anyone knew any rescues that adopted to people that were in the military. My husband is gone most of the time and I really want to take in a yorkie to keep me company and go on walks with. I've found several rescues but I'm not sure if they would adopt due to we do move a lot. But dogs are allowed and yorkies are definitely allowed! Plus being so small they would never be alone. It would be part of the family so it would never be given away or sold or given back or turned in to an spca ever!! But I don't know if a rescue would hear me out, or just deny me anyways? Any idea's or tips? Or would I be better off buying a yorkie? |
It never hurts to at least apply for some rescues. I volunteer for a rescue and they don't deny people in the military to adopt an animal, but there was one guy that was moving out of state in about a week because of the military and they did deny him because they do a home check at 2 weeks and 1 month. |
Welcome. I would think most Rescues would find you to be a great owner. Try calling one or two and explain your situation |
I would think most rescues would consider you as potential adopters, if you meet their other criteria. Afterall, not everybody stays in the same home/apartment the rest of their lives. We have to expect people will move within their lifetime.....military families just move more often than the average family. |
If this will be your first pet, you may have trouble adopting a dog from a rescue. I really wanted to rescue a puppy before I got Breyli but since none of the pets I've had in the past had vet records in my name, I didn't qualify. |
Hey I know nothing about rescues adopting to military wives since we bought Walker in Germany, but as a military wife he is a little blessing. Whenever my husband is gone (which is frequently) I have my little man to cuddle with and take me for walks. Good luck and I hope you find the perfect pup for you. |
