Puppies, especially small breeds, do not deserve to be outside--there is just way too many things that can happen outside. Is this the only breed he has????
And just another thought, there are 3 clubs and just as many forums that Neil could have contacted about his puppies. Something is not right here.
I know you want to "rescue" these puppies but where are the sire and the dam to these puppies. Is he going to have more litters? When you "rescue" dogs from unsavory environments, doesn't it encourage the people to repeat their behavors--after all, they were able to sell the puppies. | Maybe I didn't explain it well. The puppies are in a fully enclosed 12 x12 chain link enclosure with a house inside attached to the guys house and is hooked up to his AC. I fully agree they should not be outside thats why I want to get them good homes. The guy had some bad luck thats all. He never had the dogs outside before. He only has Biewers and Parti yorkies.
As I said:
Time got away from him and boom they kept getting older. Normally they are in the house and out at 12 to 16 weeks to new homes. Also he only has the one unfixed male (the father/stud) and with 4 other males growing up in the house may have caused fighting.
He may breed again after he gets married in Oct. but I didn't get too personal. I think I am a good judge of people and he contacted me three times to check on Spanky since I got him. On the other hand Darla's breeder hasn't even sent for the papers yet and after many requests I still haven't gotten the promised pictures. And she seemed very nice and I spent over three hours at her house in two visits. You just never know for sure.
Oh I also had 4 references from people that got dogs from Neil. One person who I forgot who now, said she had seen his home before he had the dog run built last year but said it was an awesome environment and he showed her the plans for the run he was putting in. It was done for his dogs to be able to go out and be safe but they live in the house with him. |
