Looking for the best home for my yorkies, preferably southern Maryland 2 Attachment(s) I am going through a divorce. I haven't had my 2 yorkies in a little over a year now and they are with my ex and my daughter. They are Cricket and Bubba. My ex does not want to keep them any longer and I can't take them. This is VERY hard on all involved especially my daughter, 15. Cricket and Bubba are 4 year old litter mates. They are very lovable and snuggly. We are in Southern Maryland and my daughter would still like the opportunity to see them every now and then if possible. I just want the BEST home possible for them. They are AKC, Bubba is neutered and Cricket is not. Cricket is 6lbs. and Bubba a whopping 12 lbs. Please help if you can. They have always been together and NEED to stay that way!! Thank you so much!! |
I am sure this has been very difficult on you! Hope you are able to find them a good home and that they can stay together! |

I'm sorry to hear you are going through this — your furkids are adorable and I hope someone from YT can take them in for you! |
So sorry you have to go through this. I hope you can find a home. You said that you don't know where you are going to live, can your ex keep them until you know where? I will pm you. |
Sorry to hear about your situation. I wish you, your daughter and your pups the best! |

Could you look into professional fostering until you get back on your feet? Sorry for your difficulties. |
I am so sorry for all you are going thru. Does your daughter have a friend at school that might be able to take them? Or a teacher? I know this isn't Maryland, but I gal was looking for one that lives in Penn. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...eeds-home.html Hugs to you all |
I just sent you a pm. Please call him and hopefully he and his wife will be able to help you out. Keep me posted! Bo |
Oh Michelle I'm soooooooooooo sorry !! I know why you can't take care of them but was so hoping things would work out for you. I just want to smack your ex ! Sending hugs and am here if you need to talk |
placing The Chas Co Humane Society has a "wish" book...people put their names in it hoping to find a certain breed...I have contacted people in the past when trying to find the perfect home for a rescue or retired dog...meet several long time friends that way...Dawn Nevitt used to work there and she was very helpful. I think she moved to Calvert, but may still work in Chas CO...you can also contact the YT club of the Nations capitol..they have a rescue and rehoming service. |
Oh Michelle, Im so sorry. I wish I lived closer, Id sure take them both in. But Im in Ohio and it would be to far for your daughter to visit them. Im sorry hun, I feel so bad for you having to find homes for them. Keeping them both in My T& P that they find the best loving home . |
I cried when I read this. I remember you posting quite awhile ago. I'm so sorry all this is happening to you and your daughter. I have a friend in Mt. Airy...I see that it looks like it's more in N. MD, but do you want me to see if she's interested? She has a big house and a husband and a son who's about maybe 13 or 14 (maybe 15 by now!). Let me know and I'll contact her. |
I'm so sorry you're going through this. Maybe you could find someone to foster them until you are able to take them back yourself. |
Here are a couple of places that might help you find a place that will let you keep them. Apartment Rental and Hotel Directory accepting Dogs, Cats and Other Pets Hsus |
Michelle I wish I could give you the biggest hug. I know you have been through SO much lately and this is very unfair. I'm so sorry. I wish we could help you out. |
Michelle, I am so sorry. I'm praying that you find the right home for them. Having gone through a similar situation, I know that prayer works. We found wonderful homes for our babies and then, unbelievably were able to get Tucker back and keep him. |
Hi Michelle. I'm very sorry for you and your daughter as well as your Yorkies. It must be especially hard on your daughter. Have you considered contacting a Yorkie rescue in your area? Maybe, they can help you out with a foster until you find a place and if not they surely can help you locate a forever home in the area, I'm sure. I wish you the best. Elaine |
omg they are so adorable...others have given good advice i hope you can find them wonderful homes...although it may be hard since they must stay together and even limited to the MD area...good luck! and sorry for what you are going through! |
I was in a very similiar situation a few months ago. My bf and I broke up and he rented out his condo and moved into his parent's house. He called me a few days after moving and said taking care of two dogs is too much work and ask if I can find them a home. I was completely heartbroken because I was hoping he could keep them until I can find a place of my own. It wasn't easy for me to find an affordable apartment in silicon valley (a decent one is around $1500). I was afraid I wouldn't be able to provide them a good and comfortable home. Many kind-hearted yorkie members from this site offer to foster them until I can get a place of my own. I hope others can do the same for you. I was literally crying every hour thinking that I may never see my yorkies again so I know what you are going through. Fortunately, things worked out and my babies are with me now. I wish you luck.. |
Please be very careful where the little girl ends up. In the wrong hands, she could be bred carelessly. Good Luck! |
