In need of a New York Rescue Group My Vet just called me. Someone turned in a young Yorkie that was roaming the streets. She has kept the Yorkie in her office for several months trying to find it a home, but, the Yorkie has some issues. It's afraid of men. The Yorkie is not thrieving in her office and she needs to find it a home. Are there any Yorkie rescues in the New York area?? The Yorkie is in Rockland County, NY, near the Tappan Zee Bridge. Can anyone help? She says the Yorkie is about 1- 1/2 years old. |
I just PM'd very really nice lady that has been searching for a Yorkie to rescue. I really think she would be a wonderful family for this Yorkie, I hope she contacts you :) |

I AM SENDING YOU BEST WISHES THAT YOU ARE ABLE TO GET THIS LITTLE ONE. I HAVE BEEN FOLLOWING YOUR STORY EVER SINCE ORPHAN ANNIE AND THE OTHER RESCUE YOU WERE NOT ABLE TO GET. YOUR STORY TOUCHED ME AND I AM PRAYING YOU GET THIS LITTLE GIRL:xfingers: |
My contact information was provided to the woman looking to rehome this little girl and she worries that the Yorkie - named Sassy - might not be good in a home with children. It seems we were so close to being the perfect home as we are a household of only women ... myself, Hannah and Tika. But I have to respect her thoughts of what would make the best home for Sassy. Here is my email response to the original poster in regards to contacting the woman looking for the right home. I was relayed the information that Sassy might not be good in a home with children. ************************************************** ******** Hi, Thanks so much for starting the communication with Lisa. I appreciate it more than you know. If Lisa is uncomfortable with adopting Sassy into a family with children, I completely respect her thoughts. How horrible it would be for Sassy to be adopted into my home, bite Hannah out of fear and have to be re-homed again. It sounds like the little girl has already been through a lot in her short life. To be honest, I'm not sure I would want to take a chance on a dog that may not be a good fit for our family. I don't want to phone Lisa and put any pressure on her to make an exception for me. She knows Sassy best and I respect her thoughts. When I first read your thread, I thought we would be able to offer her the perfect home (being that we are a household of all women), but I think it wasn't meant to be if Sassy might not be good around children. I strongly believe that when the right Yorkie comes along, there will be no obstacles, worries and everything will fit like a perfect puzzle piece. I hope this makes sense. Now that Lisa has my information, I will leave the decision making to her to find the best possible home for Sassy. If she calls me to discuss things, I will be thrilled! If not, then I respect her decision. Thanks again for your help and please keep me in mind if you hear of any Yorkies that need to be rescued. Warm Regards, Jamie |
I just PM'd you. If she is having such issues she may need to be in a breed specific rescue group. Please feel free to call me if you still need help. Thank you. |
