I just caught this and am so glad Harley is going to such a super home. He will be one lucky little guy.

Amy I talked to his previous Mom a few minutes ago. She is in tears but knows that this is the best thing for him. She said his dislikes are having his teeth brushed , getting his nails cut, having his hair brushed, and canned food. His likes are playing with other animals, eating vegetables like cucumbers, carrots, and the cores of lettuce. He also likes long walks and a glass of water at bedtime, He isn't into displays of public affection but will give you air kisses.
What I have learned from him is that if you talk to him while brushing him or touching his feet he is okay. He loves to pin you in a chair for hours while he takes a nap. he does not like it when another dog barks. or maybe just when My Pom barks. He will not beg even if you are eating a steak. And if your lucky he just might talk to you.

Thanks for the update!:) Harley sounds like such a sweet boy so I'm sure she is totally heartbroken over giving him away, but he is going to be so spoiled when he gets here.:love: His dislikes sound alot like Chip's, Chip doesn't like the nails or teeth done but has learned to put up with it. Canned food....never met a dog that didn't LOVE canned food.:confused: I'm crossing my fingers that Harley will love playing with Chip, since so far they sound like they have the same demeanor and temperment. If the weather is nice this weekend I can introduce Harley to all of Chip's friends at the dog park. Oh, and then the vegetable thing sounds like my sister's yorkie who is a veggie freak. Also my brother's former cats used have a hand fed glass of water at night before bed, so I know the routine LOL!. No PDA? :confuse2: I hope that means he won't get jealous of Chip when we go out in public since Chip is a total social butterfly. Chip isn't that big into barking, only when its some kind of truck delivery or trash man. My sister's yorkie is a barker, but he is only here about once a month on a weekend. Chip isn't a beggar at the dinner table either (which is TOTALLY FABULOUS!), but Chip will beg from you if you are eating a snack on the couch though.:rolleyes: Otherwise if you are are eating at the kitchen table Chip will be out of the kitchen.

Did she mention to you if Harley had any formal training, or cue words? How he is on a leash? Or bath time? I just want to prepare myself a little for training if he needs it.

I can hardly wait until he gets here!

Amy I am gonna give him a bath today so I will be able to let you know later, I took him into my vet this morning, in the car he prefers the back seat. he is good on the leash I know that he knows how to sit, he did very well getting all checked by the vet and even when he got his rabie shot. i need your address for the health papers if you could PM it that would be great. That way I have it so that when she gets unpacked and finds his paperwork and shot record I can mail them to you. She prefers to get updates through me. She was happy to hear that Harley will have a new brother to play with. Oh and he weighed in at exactly 16 pounds. the weather today looks pretty good so hopefully Paula can get him today.

16lbs!!! How perfect! I think the plan still stands of Paula picking him up tomorrow on the way to the airport, so he's not stressed out being in a new home for a day then moving again.

Plus I am at work and cannot get out of it being i took tomorrow off. I will be there around 10:45-11:00 being i have to check him in at 11:47 at airport and of course its supposed to snow lol so i am leaving extra time in there for travel and kissing time of course lol Makin DH drive so i can give kisses and play before I have to let Harley go!

Okay it all sounds great. I will have him ready for you when you get here. I am gonna give him a bath in a little while and trim the hair around his eyes and feet some. Gosh I am gonna miss him and he has only been here a couple days but as you can tell he has a place in my heart already. I am sending him with his leash and collar he came to me with. The health certificate and rabies certificate from my vet. And I am giving him a sweater that My Pom used to wear so he can be warm. It is purple so I think it's okay for a boy. Amy when I get the other papers and shot record from his former owner I will mail them to you. Just make sure you get some sleep tonight. I know you are soo excited.

WOW! What a happending ending and new beginning. Amy I am so happy that you are adding this cute little man to your family. I am crying happy tears for everyone. Sending special hugs to the saint who loved Harley enough to give him a new life.

What a wonderful Christmas gift to Harley ... from all of those who helped him find a new home.

Thank you all for the well wishes for Harley I am so happy to be a part of giving him a new loving forever home. am gonna miss this guy he has been such a joy to have even for a few days. And reading all these posts is making me cry. YT'ers are the greatest.
