Adopt one of the pups that were rescued There are tons of dogs that were rescued from the puppymill in VA, and they are at the North shore animal league center in LI for adoption on Friday. There's a lot of Yorkies, i am going to see if i can go and see them, depending how far it is. |
I know some are in the Richmond Va shelters, but they are only offering adoptions to people who have previously requested to be placed on a small dog waiting list. The adult yorkies I saw were pretty poor examples of the breed....not that they don't deserve love and adoption. I hope they all find homes.... |
Well they are from a puppymill so im sure they are not the best looking ones but they all deserve a good home. I wish i could take them all lol but yea i hope they all find homes, atleast they are in a no kill shelter |

Shoot we are so close to Hillsville...it wouldn't surprise me to learn the pet shops here were selling his dogs. |
I wish I were closer, I'd certainly love to go! Are you thinking of adopting one Sarah? That would be wonderful! :) |
A number of the rescued dogs were also brought to shelters here in the Raleigh/Durham area of North Carolina if anyone is interested. |
They don't have any Yorkies listed yet online http://adopt.animalleague.org/dogs/ I'm sure they are ovewhelmed with all the dogs right now. I will have to remember to keep checking back. |

Were Yorkies involves in the seizure? On the news here it said that Pugs, Maltese and Jack Russells were coming to our shelters. It's very likely that they won't even be listed online anyway. Usually in cases like this where purebreds are involved, they are overwelmed with applications just from word of mouth/news programs. |

Yes, yorkies and also min pins. Btw this guy advertisted his kennel on the CKC website, listing various breeds and also stated more breeds were available than stated and to inquire. The dogs in Richmond weren't listed online, their website just said they had animals from the kennel. It didn't list which breeds. On a thread here...someone in Ohio (I think)...found some in a shelter but was told that shelter was limiting adoptions to their residents only. I don't know that any were transferred west. I heard it was along the East Coast...with some shelters taking as many as 100. |
sunnyluvsma from yorkie rescue me posted in the rescue forum they were on stand by for Yorkies, but that there weren't that many. |
