Escape proof belly bands Does anyone have any recommendations for belly bands that are escape proof? I have a little escape artist and he gets out of all the velcro one's I've tried. I even tried a baby diaper and duck tape which someone had recommended but he get's that off too! I can't be the only yorkie mom with this problem am I? |
I use duct tape around the belly band on the escape artists....cured the issue for all but ONE of these nasty boys!!! I was thinking about contacting one of the seamstresses on here to make my "mental design" of a belly band with SUSPENDERS to keep the belly band from being "scraped off " on furniture, the floor, etc.....the suspenders would cross across their back from the belly band, go up over their shoulders and down under their chest, perhaps crossing again, and attaching to the belly band on his underside! I have even designed in my mind, a little matching vest that is long enough to somehow velcro to the belly band..... |
Well, let me know if you find someone to do it! |
I added this to the above post but ran out of time and it wouldnt post....so I will add it here!!! "I also took a 3 inch wide piece of material, that was about 10 inches long....I cut a slit, like a "button hole" that was large enough to fit over the dogs head.....then I had iron on velcro thqt attached the top of that 10 inch long strip to the top of the belly band, with the other end of the strip of material velcroed to the underside of the bellyband, on his tummy....this worked pretty well, but I had to end up duct taping around the belly band to hold the strip onto the belly band, as he would stand undeer my rataan sofa and just rub back and forth until he got the velcro to release from the belly band!" Here I am giving away all my "designer clothes" ideas!!!! Someone is going to make a fortune off these "Wright Belly Bands" ideas!!!! |
I have seen them with suspenders. Will see if I can locate them again! |
Kind of pricey and honestly look like a pain to put on. PeeKeeper This is for suspenders that you can put on them: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1065015...ale-dog-diaper then these people sell both: Happy Jack Best Dog Diapers - belly wraps with the non-slip strap I have not purchased any of these....just did a google search for you .. |
Thanks for the suggestions. I just thought I'd come back and share that someone had suggested putting a onesie over the top and that did the trick. So I use a regular belly band and then I bought some onesies at Walmart for $1 and I just put that over it and snap only one of the snaps. It seems to work perfectly! |
