affordable purse?
 

hey everyone, just wondering if anyone knows anywhere in canada where i can get an affordable purse??, i've been taking her with me in my sweater with her head stuck out, lol!!! most people don't notice!!! which i find soo funny! but its really hard to get things done when i have one arm holding her,i've been looking for an affordable purse for meesha all month, i've been checking for used ones on kijiji, nothing there, and i also checked the pet stores around here, one place i went to wanted over 100$ for all them! never thought they'd be that much, i was about to order an affordable one online from the us but the shipping came to almost as much as the purse, so any ideas of canadian online stores to buy one?
or dose anyone here have one they can sell me and also where the shipping wont be too much too,the hair salon i was working at closed down because a target store is taking over,so i can't afford to splurge and get her an expensive one until the new salon opens,so finding an affordable purse right now would be great,so would apperciate any suggestions:)

You might check on Amazon or Ebay. I think some members have found some on Ebay before. Or even check to see if anyone on here has a used one to sell. I have a Kwigy Bo. You are going to pay over $100 for one of them. But I love it. You might look for a used one on Ebay. It looks just like a purse.

I too have a kwigy bo and LOVE it... But, they are pricey!! Good luck!

ya i made an ebay account then went to check out some of the purses,put canada in and then put my postal code, one came up 30 something the other 40 something, i found one which shipping was only 20 something but then noticed it didnt have mesh sides at all, want meesha to be able to breathe in it ,hehe, apperciate the help though,i'm sure i'll find something eventually, i found one woman who was selling a used one in my city on kijiji, i went to check it out, she pulls out this tiny little purse/backpack, i don't even think a 2 lb puppy would fit in it, i'm pretty sure it was a toy.. for stuffed animals for kids or something, she wanted 40$ for it too lol, its times like these i miss living in a bigger city when finding things you need is alot easyer haha

I wish I could help. I need a purse too but I found a pattern and bought some leather look fabric. Perhaps if it turns out good I will make one for you. I will let you know :) :)

i would try making one too ,but i cant sew to save my life, i can crochet, and i made meeshas vday ball dress in my display photo myself by crocheting and tying tulle on, but thats as far as my creativity goes lol!!cant wait to see how your purse turns out,i'm sure it will be wonderful, you'll have to post some photos whenever you finish:)

I have been sewing ALOT LOL. I am actually in the process of making a TON of dresses and harnesses. I even made Chloe a pair of jeans with swarovski crystals on the pockets :) I am now working on a bathrobe pattern. I am going on vacation on Friday but when I get back I am going to finish up all of the items including a large selection of bows, some that match the outfits. I only work 3 days a week so I am going to open a store on Etsy. I figure why not combine my love of sewing and my love of Yorkies? Also there is a pet store that is opening down the street from me in March that will be selling a large number of handmade items so I am really hoping that they will be interested. Cross your fingers for me :) :) :) And I will definitely post a pic of the purse when I am done.

You always have to be careful on ebay because some people will charge a low price but put a huge shipping charge in for it.
Compare the shipping prices on the same items.
I did want to order an item on ebay that was only available in Canada. I found that the shipping charges between our countries are outrageous. I can get things shipped to me cheaper from China than Canada. Are there online sites in Canada that carry pet carriers? You might get a better deal. You also might get a better selection by searching for "pet carriers."
I guess I do a lot of online shopping and I did search for a pet carrier for a long time. Do you want one that looks like a purse and hides your pet or do you mind if it has a mesh window that shows? The thing I have found is that the ones I like usually have a mesh window that you cannot cover. Gracie doesn't like the way she has to squish down in the Quigy Bo so I looked all over until I found the fundel carrier. It's priced about the same as Quigy Bo though.

i hear ya, the shipping charges between canada and the us are ridicilious!i've been searching for pet stores online in canada,theres not many, all i've been able to find is big carriers for when you travel, i just need something small to carry on my arm with her, as long as it has some kind of mesh on it so she can breathe and can look out. I found some purses advertised as dog carrier purses, that had absolutley nothing for air ventelation!!:eek:. I found alot of great deals and tons of online pet stores in the us, added them to my cart went to checkout they calculate the shipping and its almost as much as the purse i want to buy:eek: lol,i'm sure something will turn up eventually, i'm hoping one of our 2 pet stores here has a sale, because theyre all around 125 plus tax...and theyre not even good quality and covered in thick dust lol but i keep checking on them and checking online, i'm sure i'll come across one eventually:) if not meesha will have to wait until the spring and i'll get her a kwigy bo or the fundel you mentioned...she might even turn out to be a teapot with all her growth sputs shes been having and not even fit in a purse then:rolleyes: hehehe apperciate the help:)

oh and i came across this while searching for purses...never knew such a thing exsisted, is it just me or is this ,um kind of cruel?, wouldnt that hurt the dog, and chafe it around its legs after a while:eek:, just thought it was really ...weird, i was kind of shocked so thought i'd share, lol

You probably have found a purse/carrier by now but I was looking on dhgate.com, a china company and they have quite a few (don't know exactly what your looking for) for sale..Most of them with free shipping..make sure they will sell 1 piece in the one you like..good luck

I have seen them online but I have never seen anyone use one. I don't much like the idea. It may be "cool" for someone to walk around with a dog hanging off their shoulder but I doubt a dog would like it for any length of time.

ya i looked up the fundel ones too,i like how it shows you can carry hands free,but i also like how the purses, like the kwigy bo dont look like your carrying a dog, seems like alot of people are trying to find the perfect affordable purse, any yt vendors sell any too?...i decided i'm probably just going to wait and put the money i was going to spend on a cheaper one, toward a fundel or kwigy bo when i'm back working,also do you have to train them to like going in a bag,or do they usually just like it?

I wasn't sure if Sophie & Sam would like being in carriers since they were already 1 years old when I got them. The first ones I bought didn't zip closed all of the way on top and they kept trying to jump out of it! So I bought 2 of these to try and they love it! It definitely isn't as nice as the others mentioned, but the clearance price is so great that you could use it to train her until you're ready to buy a more expensive one.

My husband had told me that since we have 2 and he would be carrying one of them, that he didn't want to have to carry something girly! So these work great for him too! :D
