Grooming Table and possibly other supplies Found a grooming table that I can probably get for about $60 plus $20 shipping. It folds and has the arm and noose. I think it's about 34 inches long. If anybody has a used one that they are looking to get rid of for cheaper than the above, please let me know. I do "not" want a tabletop one. It needs to fold down and come with arm and noose. Would prefer to be able to pay via Paypal. I've always just groomed Ellie on my lap, but it can turn into a bit of a fight trying to get her to stay still for so long and that is prohibited now because of her injury. So we'll need a table. It'll make life easier for me anyway. Will probably buy the other one in a couple days if I get no response here. Thinking I might try using clippers on her again (she hates them) since she will have less control on a table. Not willing to pay anywhere near $100+ for them. Will probably grab some cheap, crappy ones and hope they work for her body. If you are looking to get rid of some for cheap, please also let me know. :) They can be used, but well taken care of... Also, while I'm at it, I might be interested in a soft or very soft pin brush (probably Madan) and the mustache comb (again Madan). And possibly a pair of thinning shears (the really cool looking ice tempered ones:rolleyes:). I'm fine with used as long as nothing is buggy (fleas) and everything is clean. May be interested in other grooming stuff too. Can't go out and dump $200-$300+ on it all right now though. Too many potential vet bills lie ahead. |
I've got a used grooming table I'm getting ready to sell but you're probably better off getting the one for $60 and postage. Mine is used, still in good shape but does have a couple of places on the rubber top where the grooming arm has dented the rubber. An estimate on postage would be $20. I would have to sell mine for at least $40-50. So, I would think for $10-20 more you would probably want the new one. Check on Craigslist in your area. I've seen them listed here on Craigslist, that is where I had planned to list mine for sale, along with an extra dog stroller I have. |
How big is it? |
It's the small size, like 30"X18", I think. It does have the grooming arm with it. It's still very sturdy too...from reading reviews I'm guessing some of the less quality tables are wobbly. |
If it was juuuuuust 6 inches wider... I'd be asking if you'd sell it to me. Keeping my eye out still but ready to just get the purchase over with. She needs a haircut now. lol |
This is just a suggestion, but it works great for me..... I've always groomed my little ones on the kitchen counter. It's the perfect height, has plenty of room to work and spread supplies on, and there's no table to worry about folding or storing out of the way. Plus it's right next to the sink where I give baths and I'm able to store most of their grooming supplies in a drawer underneath so everything is right there in one small space. Last year I ordered a grooming arm from PetEdge and I just tighten it on the end/edge of the counter when I want to use it and now I have the perfect little grooming area with little to no setup to do when I'm ready to go to work. :) |
I have been a hair stylist for 8 years and I also am grooming Taycie. I had an older pair of people clippers at home that I used on her and they worked wonderful. I would look at people clippers too. They did an excellent job. I would check them out! Wahl - Wahl Designer Professional Clipper These are 52.99 right now at Sally's. I have paid WAY more for clippers but currently I am also using these at work and have for about a year or so and they work wonderfully. Sometimes, I have seen them go on sale for 30! I also know many here have had success with the Pet clippers offered at Walmart as well. If I remember right they were about 27?.. I am guessing here.. I know they weren't much. I think I will stick with clippers I have. I love them! |
