Try Gooby, size Large. Loki is 13 pounds, 17" chest and their size large is just a tiny bit big on him. They have fleece and coats and it's not expensive for the quality. I think I paid $25ish for the hoodies. I've washed them as much as every couple weeks in the winter and they have held up for 2 winters now.

Different brands fit different dogs, Sam fits into an I See Spot small perfectly, but is in between Small and Med in Gooby. Large is perfect for Loki in Gooby. Good luck :)

I bought Sophie this little red coat from Petco. It is easy to get on and off. It attaches with velcro.

Britster 11-01-2010 02:08 PM

OK, so the one I bought on eBay is a bit too big! Darlene was right!

I can't believe it - nothing is EVER too big on Jackson. I always get things too small. lol. It's not like humongous... I guess it's workable. No returns were accepted on that particular ebay site.... so I'll either have to sell it, buy another one, or just deal with it. I'll take a picture later to show... it will be a good snow jacket I guess since it's really warm!

Karen, definitely don't get large! I've never seen the medium but I imagine Cooper may even do okay with a small?

It's kinda BS they don't accept exchanges on these, because this is clearly listed on their ebay listing:

Please view sizing below and be sure to measure your pet. This manufacturer's sizing runs a little SMALL and we do not accept exchanges on low inventory items.

Size Fits Length Fits Necks Fits Chests
SMALL
7-9 Inches
Up to 8 Inches
12-14 Inches
MEDIUM
9-11 inches
7-9 inches
14-16 inches
LARGE 11-14 inches
10-13 inches
16-21 inches

I would have bought the Large too. Those seem like good measurements. Maybe save it for Max?:D

I've never bought anything the right size. I just bought Max a jacket at Walmart and it doesn't even cover half his back. I have tons of small boy clothes that I think I just may need to give away.

LOL! You sound like me.

Jackson is kind of an awkward size anyways. He rarely fits in smalls, mediums are usually what I end up getting but even those can often seem too small for him?, and larges always seem to be too big  He needs like a M-L combined lol.

Here's pictures.

As you can see, it's not like totally ridiculous. But it's pretty big underneath his belly, etc. The pictures actually make it look better than it does in person. Maybe because he's so skinny too, it fits awkward. Either way, if I end up not selling it... it should be good for snow and REALLY cold days. That way I can pile him up and put a nice jumper on underneath too.

Is it to big!?..It doesn't look to big, it looks fabulous on him!:D Seriously, it does look like it fits in the pic! It's always better to be to roomy then to tight, and you can fit a sweater underneath if you need to! He looks adorable!

P.S..I can't believe you couldn't return it though!!

How big is Bailey? I won't sell the stuff. I'm the type that rips the tags off, throws away the packaging and then shakes my head when nothing fits. i would just have you pay shipping. I'll go through the stuff and take some photos.

Oh so great! Bailey is 4lbs. If anything fits, I'll gladly have it! :) I constantly dress my boys in the cold months because of the fridgid temps here!

Brit, I hate to hijack your thread, but do you mind if I post my small dog clothes for Darlene to see? I don't know where else to do it.

Karen- you can totally hijack my thread! I won't take it personally ;) LOL.

By the way... for size reference..... check out Jackson's winter coat last year (that still fits him perfect but is not quite as warm) next to this one.... I think then you can REALLY tell the big difference. For some reason it doesn't look that big on him in the pics.

I'll message the ebay seller, but I think since it stated on there no exchanges, I'm sure they won't.

Holy moly!!:eek: That is big!!:eek: Yup, the small that I had ordered first was super big too, you could fit two yorkies Bailey's size in it!! Tell the seller the size chart is totally wrong!!

AllDogBoots 11-01-2010 04:44 PM

Brit I think it looks big in the photo. It just doesn't look like it fits right. I'll go take pics as soon as I get Max to stop crying.

I really like the jackets with the hoods though. Hehe. I think I have an obsession with hoodies.

Here ya go Darlene:

1. First jersey is an XS from Petsmart. 2nd one is XXS from Casual Canine. The larger of the 2 has a homemade V cut in the neck in a desperate attempt to get it to fit! The shirt is still fine
2. First shirt is Simply Dog, Small. 2nd Shirt has no tags. It looks just a bit smaller than the first one.
3. Simply Dog, Small.
4. 2 sets of pjs Boots & Barkley both XS

I think almost everything will fit except the size small Simply Dog stuff. I'm not sure really.

It does, If you look closely in the photos it really hangs down on the belly, Definitely not good for windy days! With Jesse's fit in XS it is much more snug on the tummy.

I recently ordered another style Jacket for Bailey in a small from this same seller, I hope that one isn't ginormous too.

Oh Yaayy! I will take them, if it is to small for Bailey it'll fit Jesse! Just let me know shipping..I'll PM you my address, thanks so much Karen, so generous of you!! :)

Britster 11-01-2010 05:29 PM

Great, well they will accept an exchange. I just have to fill out this form and send it back to them tomorrow. :) Seller said an issue could have been a mix up between UK measurements and US ones. But she said she never had complaints on that particular jacket before. Yay! I'm definitely going for the medium. Pretty sure the small will be too small so I'm hoping medium is just right. I really do love the jacket.

And Karen, those are REALLY cute shirts. Too bad our boys are all too big! LOL. Darlene, you hit jackpot!

AllDogBoots 11-01-2010 05:32 PM

This is one of the most fun threads LOL. One of the orange shirts fit Max for one day. Nothing else ever fit and I never return stuff.

Good luck on the exchange Brit.

Darlene, don't worry about shipping. To Canada First Class USPS won't cost more than $3-$4. PM your address.

Britster 11-01-2010 06:11 PM

Still trying to find a good fleece jumper to put underneath. Last year we had the issue of major snowballs sticking to his fur, lol.

I'm thinking this will be my final choice:
Camo Hoodie
or maybe a solid color:
http://tinkerbellscloset.com/items/c...die-detail.htm

But if anyone has any other cute ones, let me know!

Gooby makes a parka too. They have lots of styles. I was just thinking the sizing would work for him!

Those ones you picked are super cute! I hate the snowballs stuck on their fur too. We keep a towel and sometimes a hair dryer by the door when we get that wet snow, but luckily we only get 2-3 snows like that (otherwise it's just COLD or it's crusty, hard packed icy snow).

FYI Shana just had a baby a couple days ago, so her sewing/shipping is going to be delayed an extra little bit beyond her normal 2-3 weeks, so if you want it for snowy weather place your order ASAP!

Britster 11-12-2010 01:27 PM

Yay! I got the jacket in the mail today in a size MEDIUM and it's perfect. :):):) I love it.
Thanks for the tip, Darlene! Jackson will be very warm this winter!

That's great! So glad it fits. I just received a different style from the same Ebayer for Bailey and love it. The XS in the style that Jesse and Jackson has was to small fro Bailey and the size Small was waaaaay to big! I can't believe how some of the sizes vary!
