Need Soft Sided, Folding Crate Any recs? Thor has a huge wire crate that I used during potty training, and that's it. It's very unwieldy. Now that I'm taking him to a nose work class, he needs a crate. I took him in a dog carrier for the first class, but I felt so bad for him - all the other dogs were in these awesome, soft crates that folded up and were super-easy to carry, and Thor was in this teeny black bag. It looked like someone had forgotten their purse. On a more serious note, one of the people had trouble putting her dog back into the crate, and in the course of getting him back in, both she and her dog knocked into Thor's bag and pushed it against the wall. I think if he's visible in a crate, people will be a little more careful. I'd like something as small as possible, and ideally something we could go camping in as well. Any suggestions? |
There are several choices here: Soft Dog Crates | Soft Sided Dog Crates - Dog.com Can't have Thor showing up with out his soft side crate:) |
I just got one of the soft sided crates from bed bath and beyond, with the 20% coupon it was only 16 dollars, it is very light weight and very easy to open up and break down. |
Hey, that was easy. :) I didn't even know these existed before last night. ArmaniMan, do you know the brand name of your crate? I just saw one with UV panels... and now I'm freaking out that I need UV panels. I don't want Thor to get sunburned! |

It is this one Portable Pet House - Bed Bath & Beyond but they sell it in the stores also. At home my dogs never get crated so it is set up more as a place for them to go "hide" if they feel the need (meaning they have the special toy that they dont want to share!) But I have taken it on vacation and left them in it in the hotel and they have not gotten out, rolled it, or anything but they are pretty well behaved in the crate. :) |
