Hey Girl, Do you brush their teeth? :D I found by giving the bully sticks and ropes this helps alot to. They also have dental bones for them to chew on that help as well. :p but I actually did find that in the first year they had the worse breath. After the first cleaning and by giving lots of chew toys has helped alot. :) |
do they still have their baby teeth? If so, that could be the reason why their breath is smelly. I brush my girls teeth every night and i also put dental liquid in their water. they have sparkly white teeth and no smell either. And they all have their baby teeth taken out when they got spayed. |

yea, i used a dental liquid to but they didn't care for it to much!! :D |
At 7 months, it's likely they are teething, they could have loose teeth that cause a bloody yucky smell, or the could have kept some baby teeth and the permanent teeth have come in, causing a double row of teeth that leads to food being caught in crevices. This also causes a bad smell. As they get older bad breath is caused by tartar buildup, and eventually the teeth loosen from the gums, and food builds up in the gum pockets, this also leads to stinky breath. Don't ever mask bad breath, treat the cause, in the case of double rows, have baby teeth pulled when you neuter your pets, for tartar problems, hard foods and chew sticks are really helpful and keep the gums firm and healthy. I also use Petzlife to help keep tartar from forming. Occasionally bad breath is caused because of the food eaten and digestion problems. Yorkies are known for week teeth, and it would be best if you could brush them a minimum of 2 times a week. |

Since they are already seven months old, there is a good chance that they have retained baby teeth that won't come out on their own. Yorkies and other toy breed dogs are prone to retained baby teeth. Retained baby teeth can rot, get infected and cause bad breath. They need to be removed by your vet. They are usually removed during the spay or neuter. |
