Sugestions for summer bed?
 
I see a lot of wonderful cozy beds for winter, but when it's summer, those cozy ones are waayyyy too hot for my yorkies......They always spread out on the ceramic tile to cool off, but it would be nice if the had a bed to climb into...Sometimes I put a sheet in their bed hoping it is cooler for them.....Does any one know of a alternative for them that is cooler for hot days?

I may be ordering some satin beds, I know they would be cooler but I have never tried satin beds with yorkies yet so Im not sure how well they hold up. I know there are tons of canvas type beds for summer, petedge even has a bunch have you looked there?

Shana, I have made blankets and pillows using silk and they hold up well. If the satin is a good quality heavy satin AND if it is sewn well and lined, they should hold up GREAT! Can't wait to see what you have up your sleeve.....You have some of the cutest things ever on your site!

Making a summer bed is on my todo list. I have a lot of things on that list....One major one and then I'll try to put the ideas I have for a summer NapSak into action.

I don't know beans about sewing but that would be great if one side was a cooler fabric to lay on & the other was cozy...Good luck on your plans, I'm curious what you'll come up with..:)

I don't know of any beds off hand that would be nice for summer. I just realized that I am still using fleece blankies. :lol tears My poor babies. :rolleyes: Guess I will have to find something soon, too. (Hint hint Cindy)
