? Looking for Summer Mat Free Type Harness ? I need some suggestions for a Harness for the summer for TJ and Roxy. We are currently using the 'silk step-in harness' which I really like, they are light and well-made. The only thing is that TJ and Roxy will get really bad mats. Is there anyway around this? It is very fustrating :( I want something that is light and cool for the summer, but something that will be close to mat free as possibly? Anyone  |

I have one of Chattiesmom's(Cindy) silk step in harnesses and i haven't had any problem with matting at all from it. |
Thanks, these are what I am currently using. I think they are great, well made, light and comfortable, except my 2 have serious matting issues :( |
I don't think you will find a better harness that won't cause matting than the silk ones. I think you need to look more into hair products that prevent matting rather than the harness because I have tried several harnesses and the silk ones are the best. The seabreeze oil and the cowboy magic are two good products to prevent matting. JMO |
I have Cindy's harness for Itzi and I love it. I have been starting the new puppies with Itzi's harness. |
I think the step in harness is about as mat free as you will get. You might consider a slightly shorter cut for the summer. It does not have to be shaved close to the skin, something just an inch or two shorter might be enough to do the trick. |
Have you tried Buddy Belts? |

hmmm Do you use it? |
My girl has been using a buddy belt for over 6 months now, they aren't cheap about $50 CDN. but work great she has never had a mat due to using this harness. |
Have you tried smooth leather? |
