Looking for good dog shampoo Hey all...im just looking for a good puppy shampoo for Piper. I dont think the one we have is working cuz she is still scratching and nibbling at her leg. So if anyone knows of a good shampoo that helps get rid of fleas and stuff, let me know! THANKS!!:) :aimeeyork |
Several of us have just received our MinkSheen and love it!! Is a a 4 in 1 shampoo (shampoo, conditioner, detangler, coat shiner). I don't remember the website, but if you google MinkSheen you will find it. They have human products as well. I haven't heard anyone who doesn't like the results they've gotten and you can get a trial size as well. And welcome to YT!!!! |
But will the milk sheen keep the fleas off? I'd strongly suggest buying Dr. Bronners pure castile liquid soap. The baby mild is very gentle. Add 20 drops of rosemary oil to the bottle. Also use a hot oil treatment (like VO-5) You can follow up with a good conditioner on the legs especially where matting is common. Don't use anything that has a flower or fruity scent as it attracts mosquitoes and other biting insects and can cause itching as well. |
Look under products and reviews. Every one is talking about Minksheen. Well, I used it this am for the first time and it is awesome!!!!! They turn out so shiny and smell so good. It even has an antibiotic in it along w/ a flea & tick repellant Good Stuff. |
Sorry, I forgot to add the link. http://www.drbronner.com/drb_sai_liquids.html |
I can recommend several products from the Paramount collection. This is a flea/tick shampoo. It smells like black licorice and it is alcohol free and contains no animal byproducts. http://missyt.shopshurepets.com/Prod...id=122&cid=103 I use this product every spring/summer. It is a safe and effective pesticide-free spray with natural sunscreen. This product REPELS pesky insects such as flies, mosquitoes, gnats, bees, hornets, wasps, fleas and ticks. The idea is to keep these bugs off of our pets. Whereas the topical products typically used allow these bugs to get on our pets and hang out until the chemicals take affect then they die and fall of-on our carpets, beds, in our cars, etc.... YUCK!! This spray keeps them off!http://missyt.shopshurepets.com/Prod...d=7801&cid=103 I sell both of these products on my website if you are interested. Missy |
There are herbal sprays on the market for $10.00 and you don't pay shipping. :) Petco and Petsmart both have the herbal spray and the powder. It's all natural, no chemicals. It's the fragrance that keeps them off. |
Ouch! I guess I will sulk away with my tail between my legs.... Seriously though, even if you don't buy it from me, it is great to have this type of spray on hand. You can apply it even if you already use other products (topical spot treatments, shampoos, etc....) It really works to keep unwanted bugs off of our pets. I keep it in my doggie bag all spring/summer so I have it with me when I unexpectedly need it. |

Oh...I may need to look into that....I hate bugs and really haven't been please w/ a lot of the topical meds (Frontline, etc)....I agree...I hate these pests and would rather deter them BEFORE they attach themselves on little Mojo!!! YUCK! I do like SheaPet products though....they leave his hear super soft and shiny! |
