my boyfriend came home today and said he will buy me a yorkie at the end of the month! i am so exceited :)

anything i should be wary of, from breeders, price wise ect? thanks for all your help :) i love this site!

look at the breeder review section first. also, do not purchase from a breeder who breeds different breeds of dogs. if they state "teacup" "micro" "tiny" or anything like this, beware.
take your time....get what you want. if you find a breeder, put it on here and we can look at the site and give our thoughts.
make sure you know how they are being raised.


there will be many more suggestions as well here. these are my first thoughts.

this is probably a stupid question, but are there diffrent types of yorkies? i am looking for a female yorkie, some of the photos on here show the girls as more 'feminine' for lack of a better word. they have a smaller face, and a smaller nose? this is what i am looking for, i am not intending to breed or anything like that. how can i tell from a puppy what they will look like when they are older? thanks for all your help! you guys are so knowledgeable!

You can usually tell about what the puppy will look like when it's older by looking at the pups mom and dad. Never buy a puppy sight unseen. Get a health certificate, make sure the breeder has the pup bile acid tested and a paper from the Vet. to prove it. Congratulation on your soon to be family member and we want to see pictures when she arrives. :D

to help you make the right decision.:)

THAT IS VERY TRUE!
But sometimes there are good reputable breeders that breed
2 different breeds.
I have been dealing with the English Mastiff and Yorkshire breed for over 20 years! they are the only 2 breeds I deal with and
am devoted & love them dearly.
I cant speak for anyone else but I know I wouldn't have it
any other way!:animal36
