Puppy heating pad wanted
 
I am looking for a heating pad for puppies. One that has like metal around the cord so it can not be chewed through.
If anyone has any pm me.
Now I have the pink microwaveable disc and love it but my friend told me about these other ones.

I had one that had the coil around the cord. It was a big plastic thing but it burned out or something. Also it doesn't have a heat control and was too hot at times. Babies like to sleep clumped up on each other and it got so hot the mama's wouldn't sleep in the bed with the babies. I had it under the bed. The babies wouldn't sleep close to each other and when I picked them up they felt hot to my hand. If I use another heating pad it will be one that has a heat control. I was afraid their blood would boil. No kidding.


Try a ziplock bag of dry rice warmed up in the microwave and wrapped with a towel so as not to burn the babies. I haven't tried this one yet but my dil tried it for cramps and says it works. I will be trying it. Sylvia

I would certainly want one with a control.
I have the snugglesafe heating disc now but wondered if the pad was better.

I have a regular heating pad with a cover in their bed set on low and it is working just fine. I have 3 13 week old pups that use it also and dont bother with the cord.

I know I use to use a regular heating pad till so many told me how unsafe it was. Although I never had a problem with the pups chewing on it, it just freaked me out enough to stop using it.
But I think I will go back to it.
