I'd love to use a coupler with my two little ones. My old shepherd has arthritis and needs little walks and not the marathon ones my lab/dobie needs. It would sure help me out if I could have Robbie join Roxy and Rubie on their walks. My concern is that there is too much of a size difference between the girls. Ruby is already 5.4 lbs at 13 weeks old and Roxy is 2.2 lbs. On top of this, Ruby attacks her walks with great gusto but Roxie - no matter how fast her little legs go - she is no match to keep up. Is a coupler only a dream in my situation or do I just need to wait until the girls understand the "stay with me" command? BTW - my girls are litter mates and I am looking for a really good smart response for all the people who ask me "whats wrong" with Roxy because she is so delicate and the size difference exists. At the moment I just tell them nothing - Ruby is just big boned. But it's getting on my nerves! A lady at the vet's went so far as to say she hoped I didn't pay a lot of money for Roxy because she probably wasn't healthy. |

I think I would work on teaching Roxie to slow down a bit before I used a coupler. It would not be a pleasant walk for Ruby to be drug by Roxie. :) I wish I could help you come up with a clever little comment...... :confused: maybe some very witty person will come up with something. |
As the first to have the Take2...I am so proud...I must say that I have a similar situation as described. Biscuit is a fast walker and Jolene likes to take her time. He now has very quickly learned that he must slow down and wait for his girlfriend. She doesn't get pulled at all by him but he has to mind his manners or get pulled by himself!! |

another question. is the coupler stationary or can it move with the dogs? do you know what i mean? can it move through the ring or is it sewn in place? i hope this makes sense!:confused: omega |
The coupler has the "leash clip" on either end and a "o" ring sewn in the middle, so each dog has their section. I would affix a pic but my camera is acting up:( |
One end of the coupler is sewn into the "o" ring, the other is sewn into a swivel snap. I hope I answered your question. The first picture above might help a bit. :) |
